I bought a rap 5 a few months ago myself, was a big transition from playing on the pad for the previous 2 years but I've gotten much better with it now and I wouldn't consider going back.

getting used to stick takes its time, on unrelated matter though hori uses their own parts in the pro li e of sticks (hayabusa) which for lot of people ARE too loose. you might want to try to get hands on experience on stick with sanwa (i smack those in all sticks i build unless someone specificaly wants something else) or seimitsu parts and see how you feel about them

You need to get used to it. Also there is option to decrease sensitivity through software.

Out of curiousity, how different is the sticks compared to Mad Catz? (Specially got the X360 SFxT Fightstick Pro, which is really "clicky".)

Does your stick have a Cicle gate? Or worse yet a Square gate?? If you can swap out the gates under the stick get an Octagonal gate, anything else isn't really suited for Fighting games.

After reading it again, and watching a video on about the Hayabusa's joystick internals. I have to imagine, is the microswitch for the "up" direction misaligned and is placed "closer" to the joystick than it should be? That might explain the sensitivity issue. (or at least more than it suppose to.)

Generally it takes months to get used to using an arcade stick. It's not something you buy and expect to do well with right away.

Nonsense. Many of the best fighting game players in the world use a square gate. All of the arcades in Japan use a square gate as well.

I'm using the RAP4 and I love it, although it took some getting used to vs my old stick. If you're having trouble transitioning from a pad, I suggest you try out a few different grip styles and see which gives you the best control and accuracy.

This is some low level bait.
