-Sf5 has no real singleplayer content, and have a terrible and awful dlc policy abusively highpriced, but coming as a new is actually okey in the price matter.
-Netcode is ok but quite odd sometimes, at least rn its playable compared to its first awful years...
-gameplay is actually very fun, but highly capped on dlcs.
-art content menus and whatsover are very bad, everything feels cheap and barebone. just a few 1 color background with no sense of artistic taste, very bad compared to what sf saga is used too.
-Music overall is quite awesome. you got to pay a lot if you want sf2 pack.
-they work more on skins than everything else.
-enough people playing online and cross helps a lot.
highly devs'd capitalized title with no real art direction, which makes me wonder if 6 will be worth.
- Adds can be disabled
- Singleplayer is okayish for a fighting game meant to be played against other people.
- Champion Edition is a great deal and comes with a a lot of dlc. Season 5 content has a normal pricing compared to other fighting games.
- Agree on the netcode
- Art comes down to personal tastes
- The Sf2 music pack is included in the champion edition
-singleplayer is absolutely lacking in content and low quality compared to the market and the past of the serie. everything has been lowered down in this entry. there is no excuse, especially for the price.
-sf5 dlc policies is only worth for newcomers and is way higher than other fighting games for the community for the rest.
-blank color menus, no world map and big etc is not art, its a barebone software. presentation of the product.
- There are only adds in the main menu if you select them by going to the information tab. I don't see anything wrong in showing that there is no content available or adverstising for events like they currently do for the intel world open. It's not permanently displayed like in tekken 7 for example.
- Single player is nothing special but not inferior to tekken 7, dbfz or kof. NRS games excel those games for sure. I also don't see anything the older sf games did better than sfv single player wise. SF4 only had arcade mode and trials for example. sfv offers more in that regard.
- sfv received more dlc than any other fighter so you obviously have the chance to spend more money on the game. Where is the problem in that? There is next to no difference in pricing and content if you compare the season passes of other fighting games. sfv is also the only game which alows you to unlock all dlc characters, most stages and some costumes for free with ingame currency. OP can also be considered a newcomer since he didn't play since 2016 so the champion edition upgrade kit is a very good choice for him. There is current fighting game offering a better game+dlc package.
- No world map in arcade mode? Is it that important? Recreating all arcade modes for each game and each characterending doesn't look barebones to me at all.
The game is pretty much over, Capcom is just milking remains of it until SF6.
With content, maybe. With everything else, I doubt. And playerbase was over 3.5k on Steam when I started playing. In this time and age of social media and extreme exposure over then, SFV... isn't really well exposed. SFV is what SFIV was 2015.
