Street Fighter 2 HD remix for PC?

I understand Capcom was thinking about this a while back, but I was wondering whether it was back on the radar now that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are essentially discontinued? It would be great to have on PC, simply for that great combination of nostalgia, character balancing and much better graphics than the non- hd remix.

The thing is, as an older gamer with older friends, sure I enjoy SF4 occasionally and perhaps also SF5 in future, but any friends that come over would not want to play a game with new characters. We want a trip down memory lane, and a few minutes of video game fun, not a whole new game we have to spend hours learning how to play.

I would pay much more for SF2 HD remix on PC than I ever would for a sequel, simply because its the game with which my generation are familiar. For example, my school held a tournament in SF2 at lunch times in the early 90s. We all crowded round the old CRT and it was incredibly competitive. You wouldn't believe how many 30-somethings actually know that game and can pull off a hadouken but don't care to learn a new game or be beaten by a new character they've never seen before.

Anyway Capcom, how about a presumably simple port for PC please? I don't need online. Happy for you to add that as DLC or never do it.

Would be great but Capcom simply does not care about PC Gaming. So don't expect HD remix on PC just like how they never gave a damn to bring MVC3 to PC

Yes Capcom doesn't care about PC gaming,thats why we get a PC VERSION of SFV.
MVC3's problem is the license issues. They're not allowed to sell this game anymore,or any other mahvel game.

I would like a Pc Port of HDR, I love SF2.

Capcom originally said back around the time when HDR was released on console, there was no point releasing it on PC as people could already play Super Turbo and 3rd Strike on the likes of GGPO and Supercade etc and they didn't see enough demand to warrant it.

I can understand not releasing stuff that can be done on emulators. But SF2 HD remix can't be played anymore with current hardware. My point is that perhaps there is demand now the x360 is neither current nor emulatable.

@knightofawesome, if you can backup your dreamcast copies of sfIII (or buy them used if you don't have them already), and you have a powerful system, then nulldc emulator runs full speed. You can even run from steam with custom links / ICE banners. Just make sure you change your settings to vga cable output in nulldc of SF3 double impact displays a bit too low. As I understand it you can use sweetfx to remove the pixellation but I haven't figured that out yet.

Xenia360 might provide hope for 2 Remix but there's quite a way to go yet even if it works in 10 years, which is why a PC port would be very welcome indeed.

@thatbigdaddy, doesn't it work on Dolphin and / or PCSX2 if you have the games for those systems?

You can play it single player wise, but reliable online play is pretty much impsosible. I'd be up on that and I would like a CvS3 but I'm not sure I trust Capcom at this point design wise or integrity wise. That's another issue though.

HDR is pretty awful though. You can just play the original game on Fightcade.
