CrackProof
"Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: CrackProof "
Since when this is implemented in the game and what it exactly does?

Guess it stop mods from working?

I'd assume they want to rid people using trainer or using characters that they shouldn't have, similar to the rootkit incident.

Likely what happens instead is bad PR and lots of salt.

I have a few mods and they are still working, so that couldn't be it.

The game is near its end. Why after 4 years. It's like trying to make a meat pie out of rotten meat. We have much bigger issues with the than trainers and extra characters.

Can't help but wonder why do I still play this game...

DRM = Digital Rights Management. That's software which tries to prevent a game from being cracked, similar to Denuvo.

The Champion Edition doesn't list this 3rd party DRM, but the original version does. So it seems it has been there since forever. There is one France based company website "crackproof.eu" (run by SUCRECUBE Technologies, which in turn appears to be under japanese influence?!?) that mentions such an application protection. However, it looks pretty dead to me, to be honest.

Isn't a bit too late for making a game safer given all the things since release?

I think that is Japanese based company DNP hypertech. I'm just suspicious of Capcom's actions lately.

Cannot find this on my SSD or running in the RAM. You sure you're not victim of some malware?

The question is there to find out why and how this get in the game. Nothing detected on my side. Just a curiosity, nothing more.

Why? Because Capcom tried to protect their property. How? I guess programmers did that. Right now, I don't see an issue here. It's a common thing to do. As I wrote, this isn't listed for Champion Edition, but the old SFV store page. Cannot even be sure this is still in the game.

Protecting property when your product is already cracked, dismantled and then brought back together.
Yeah, but why now?

It says one of the parts of the game has it, so there is a reason why is listed in the store.

Game protects itself by being not worth to crack I guess.

Was there an actual patch or is the store just now listing something that may have already been in there? I didn't see any updates pending for the game.

I just uninstalled for now having never heard of the thing.

You might be right.

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. Didn't notice that previously when I checked the store. Maybe, maybe not.

Don't worry about listing some DRM inside the steam shop page.. just have a look to F1 2016 to F1 2020 they all have Denuvo and NO ONE listed Denuvo on steam shop page and last 2 2019/2020 neither in the EULA....

So this was always here?

What do you mean, 'why now'? Do you think this game was released without protection and now suddenly they added it? No! It was there before. What are you trying to do? Do you seek some reason to drop the game, other than you not enjoying it? Why?Just leave it. What does it help you to further build up your grudge?
