Cross Up Pressure Advice?
Hey, trying to get into competitive fighting games and since its been out I've noticed that SFV favours the player that applies pressure.
My problem is that I constantly suffer to cross ups, and end up losing the match, but my opponents at a lot of times jump over me at an angle that ignore my crouching anti airs, so I wanna know how to deal when the opponent is applying pressure.
Some moves also leave the enemy fair away enough to where throwing out a move only gets you punished (Necalli, Bison, Nash) so any advice?

Well stop joking, in case of cross up yes you can block, the logic wnats that when the guys is making a crossup jump MK, you have to press forward on pad / stick to block ... that's all

The problem isn't blocking the problem is idk what to do next, sometimes the pressure seems so hard you don't wanna press any buttons and before you know it you've stuck yourself into just holding block

Don't forget about the new Reversal mechanic either.
Also, learn other escapes, maybe your character has a dashing move that gets you out of the jam as the opponent travels overhead, or a slide or something similar

You can throw them at close range.

Thx to everyone for the tips. Grab or escape, maybe hit? It's all depending on the options.

as silly as it sounds, this is why u see pro players always moving back and forth- the anticipation is always that the opponent will jump at their perfect angle to land on your back. Positioning is the big thing I think you are missing- know your jump limits and the other characters'.

And dont forget to dash forward when they jump for the cross up- can save your bacon if you doubt your block skills.
in mvsc1 i always back up to the wall to avoid cross ups. in sf4 you see dieminion do the same thing. if someone is strong somewhere, don't be there. avoid bad situations.

As I've been made to understand, you need to give the pressure right back to them. Start thowing those jabs and light kicks, pressure them back. You can block sure enough, but it seems like a block is just a signal for a throw, especially if you block multiple hits.

It's my understanding that being able to jump behind someone against the wall is one of the issues on this game.

If they willingly jump into the corner...I mean...isn't that supposed to be good for you?

No it isn't that is Street Fighter mechanics. You get trapped in the corner you lose the advantage.
