Here's the video Capcom made showing all the modes that would be released at launch. As you can see, they made it clear that it wouldn't have an arcade mode.
"Story mode will take you about 1-2 hours" means the whole thing, not just the cutscenes.
Oh you're right, that's why they also made it so perfectly clear that there won't be an options mode. I mean, it's not on the video so clearly its unmentioned abscence is a clear declaration that it's not in the game.
Do you even know what "made it clear" means or are you just bashing your keyboard hoping that the words that come out will make sense?
Yeah, I mean after TF Classic and all other games of the same genre having a campaign and everything, everyone was just expecting TF2 to have one too. It would justify that $60 price tag that it shipped with too, right?
Also, TF2 DOES have a single-player mode where you can play a normal map with every player being replaced with a bot. So it's already got a better single-player than SFV does.
What goalpost? You're the one who started comparing it to a far superior game when it comes to provinding a service in the form of a multiplayer game WHILE also providing some of the best single-player games on the platform (let's not forget that TF2 came bundled with HL2 + 2 episodes + Portal for half the price of SFV). Because even the game focused on playing as a TEAM made a better job at having a single-player game than the one-on-one fighter that has had one-on-one fights against the CPU ever since the genre was born.
Also, you point me out how Capcom made it "extremely clear" that there wasn't going to be an Arcade mode. Was that the same way they made it "extremely clear" that there's no local versus in the game too? Because that wasn't mentioned in the trailer either, so I suppose that's also missing from the main game. I mean, most people would take it as read since it's been a staple of fighting games since.... ever so there should be no need to mention that the game has it but if "we didn't mention it so that means it's not in there" is the new philosophy now... I guess SFV just doesn't have local versus anymore. Man, Capcom is REALLY cutting corners now, aren't they? But what can you do, if it's not aimed at the online component of the game, then it's not really useful to anybody, is it?
And crossplay is what justifies the price tag? That's a really nice joke, very funny. And then you mention Rocket League, another crossplay game focused on online multiplayer that costs about 1/3 of what they're asking for SFV. Oh yeah, clearly that cross-play feature is MAD EXPENSIVE if you can sell a game for $20 or less with that feature. My God, don't you go crazy for us there Capcom, you're going to go bankrupt with all those expenses you're going into for our sake.
There is local vs. Have you seriously just not played the game?
I never said the crossplay was the only reason to justify the price. I mentioned one other thing. It's not as important, but you know, the mechanics.
If you dont enjoy what the game is offering for the price, DO NOT buy it then...
EDIT: For me it´s an MP only game almost all other stuff is bonus. And I think the demographic this game is for agrees.
