We do enjoy both pretty women and thong leotards (the item of clothing she is wearing since her creation in 1992 and used by Gymnasts) I don't think a franchise should alter it's intellectual propertyand original caracter that's probably older than you, because you can't handle gymnast clothing.

I'd say the crotch lines are etched in the 3d mesh I'd put my money on lazyness not wanting to redo the 3d meshes or pull another decapre (legs in spendex tights )
