Is this cpu above the minimum requirement?

I run it on a 6-core fx 6130. I'm about to do my monitor resoltuion of 1600x900 with mixed medium-low settings.

Its a bit iffy for you I think. You might be able to hit 60 but it might have to be on low settings and a lower resolution.

You could buy the game on steam and try it out. If it doesn't work you could refund it (Need to have less than 2 hours of playtime and needs to be in the first 2 weeks of purchase). Not sure how long it would take the refund to process though.

I run it on a Athlon II X4 (quad core 3.0 Ghz) with Nvidia GTX 950.
1080p @60fps, med/max setting

Note they're biased for nvidia. I have an R9 380 which is (obviously) more than the 370 that is on the "recommended" list, but the System Requirement Labs doesn't recognize this fact.

That aside, the rest of the details will tell you if your system can run the game.

edit: I found an alternative site. It seems to work better but it requires a bit more work.

http://www.game-debate.com/

Requires signing up on the website and downloading their app.

Then search for the game inside of the app, not on the website. The website seems to have a limited number of games in its database? But I found SFV very quickly by using their app. This doesn't appear to be biased toward one manufacturer.

It's close, but your GPU is more important. If you have 8GB of RAM or more, you should fine (assuming you have a high end graphics card)

oh yes I have a GTX 980 and 8 gigs of RAM, was just a little unsure regarding the CPU

It's definitely under the minimum CPU requirements, but SFV's cpu usage isn't that big and can run on lower specs than what they recommend. Yours is borderline though, you'll probably have slowdowns. Kind of a shame to use a GTX 980 with it though, it's quite a huge bottleneck.

The reason I ask is because I already have the game and I am experiencing slowdowns while playing. This even occurs when playing in low spec mode, which surprised me and primed me to ask this question about my CPU.

I've already disabled v-sync, which gave me little difference. I see many people with many different kinds of rigs discussing fps issues all over the internet so I'm just trying to get to the bottom of things and determine if the problem is my hardware or an issue with the game itself.

I appreciate all of the responses I have received here so far, thank you.

Check if your CPU usage is getting pinned at 100%, just run the resource monitor in the background and see what data it collections. If it's hitting 100% for long periods, it's a CPU bottle neck.

I would check some of the other threads related to slow downs though, I doubt it's the CPU.

Do what Bad_Conduct said, but imo it's definitely your CPU. In most games you'll start seeing slowdowns at around 80% CPU load, especially from 60 FPS, and SFV seems to have slowdowns even lower than that. There's no way your GTX 980 is the issue unless you play on a ridiculously high resolution.

So the CPU usage sits around 45% at start up, hits between 70%-80% during char select/intros, then about 60%-75% during actual gameplay. So maybe it really can't handle the load? Once the character models appear in the game it really shoots up there.

It most likely can't, yes.

Doubt it, it's something else slowing you down. If the CPU was sitting at 100%, I would say that your CPU can't load the game fast enough, but it's not the case.

Disable Vsync, update your drivers, uninstall, reinstall the drivers. Make sure the refresh rate on your monitor is correct. Make sure the nvidia software is at default settings.

I have a 980 also, it's more than enough to run this game. Your CPU isn't pinned, so it's not a bottleneck. I wouldn't think so.

I'd start poking through other threads related to performance at this point, everyone seems to have a different issue (or a different solution).

Are you using Windows 10?

I'm on windows 7, does this game utilize directx 12? I've heard some people claim upgrading to windows 10 helps but I've been a bit hesitant to try it.

It does not, but I've heard similar things regarding better performance on Windows 10. If you are going to upgrade, you are better off with a clean install.

I have a FX 4100 3.6 ghz quad core runs the game just fine on max settings with my R9 270 X
