madcatz FightStick TE2+ or a HORI Real Arcade Pro

i wanna get one of these for sfV and i saw a chun li version of the te2 online for 160 so which one should i get ?

hori rap is super cheap. you will need to swap the buttons though since they're not sanwa. I ended up paying around 100€ for my RAP3 + sanwa button set.
My vanilla TE and my TE2 cost me 140€ on the other hand but don't buy and xbox1 stick. MS still has no decent drivers for this. I currently use my xb1 TE2 and can only use 6 buttons, start and select. You'll basically have to swap 2 connecters since xb1 gamepad drivers don't support lt/rt on TE2 (xb1).

I heard the madcatz TE2 stick is pretty good, but I haven't used it myself. I play with the Xbox one controller; it's all about preference.

I hate madcatz, but the TE2 is a good stick. If you can get it for the same price as the hrap and plan to do any modding at all, then get it.

I've been using the same Hori Fighting Stick EX2 for 7 years and only now is it starting to act up and not respond. The buttons sometimes give me the same input twice so I might just be fine if I replace the buttons. This lasted from the start of Sf4 to the start of Sf5. If that's not a solid product then what the hell is?

But I need to buy a new one too becuase what else is so old in this thing it's gonna stop working? But besides that I had to say that Hori rocks. I haven't had another computer accessory last so long.

Good stuff I'll look more into this. People were saying wait for EVO to start because when tournaments start sticks go on sale.

The TE ones are cool but its mainly the sanwa parts that make them good, i think other than that they are overprices, because i dont assisiate madcats with quality products .

I've got a te2+, and I love it. its only my first fight stick ever though, so I don't have a basis of comparison. its served me very well so far however, and it feels very satisfying to use

i swapped out the square restrictor for an octogonal one after the first day though. I tried using the default square one, but I just didn't like it

EDIT: also bear in mind that madcatz released an xinput driver for the te2+ so it works natively with sf5 and killer instinct. i'm not sure what the situation is with hori

eeh yeah but one problem can i use ps3 or ps4 arcade sticks ? dose the software for the madcatz te2 and te2 + work correctly or do i need to get it working unofficial with ds3 tool because i have a ps3 controller connected right now with ds3 tool

I tend to recommend Hori over mad catz just in general but you're probably not going to go wrong with either of them.

The RAP3 is garbage quality compared to the vanilla TE. Even after full sanwa mod.
