Is FM the only way to get Kage?

Honestly no idea, this character seems rushed entirely from assets to release.

He's available to buy now. Or he appears to be since I havn't bought his shoto clone rehash. Seems thought that if you buy him with FM now you don't get the colors or the extra costume, you have to shell out more to get those unlike previously with the season passes. You want the costume and colors you now have to spend more or buy in cash...one more little prick in the side of the Crapcom consumer.

to buy Kage go to the in game store.

there will be two options, you can buy "Kage" for 100,000 FM or "Kage : Costume Included" for $6

I don't think Capcom is doing a S4 pass. the Kage annoucement said this

You could be right but i think this statement could mean a lot of stuff. Why would they remove the seasonal character pass? I can't find a reason behind that.


Really got my hopes up with all those rumors/leaks and thought there will be bigger annoucement happening at capcom cup. All we got is a character and no information on anything else. I don't understand this.
Why wouldn't capcom use the capcom cup to announce their plans for season 4.
It would have been the best moment with a big audience but instead they state "we’re eager to share the details with you soon!". They just release a new character and people don't even know if he will be included in a character pass. Kinda underwhelming for me.

I posted this in another thread but I'll summerize why I think they are doing this now

Capcom probably wants to spread out the games hype cycle. last year they revealed everyone at once but that left no annoucements for the whole rest of the year.

but they cant go back to the siloettes they used in S1 and S2 because they were asking people to pre order mystery characters.

I think they are solving this by ditching the pass altogether. that way they don't have to hint at anything since they arent selling the characters yet.

and if you think about it the passes have become redundant anyway. the original hook behind them was that you could get an extra costume buy purchasing the pass. but in S3 they started including the costume for individual purchases too.

there is basically no reason to buy the pass now, so they ditched it

Yeah it's only speculation so far but the missing season 4 pass stuff fits better in that topic.
