If You Can Only Play on a Keyboard with Ghosting, Skip For Now

Got the game recently. Was using a keyboard. The game started with the tutorial. I got to the part where I needed to do a Throw. It's nigh impossible on a keyboard. Any action that requires pressing 2 buttons down simultaneously is nigh impossible. I mean mashing both keys at the same time furiously, or slowly, for minutes, trying to buffer the inputs with jumps or rapid inputs. It works about once every 25 tries. It isn't good. Really isn't.

It might work better on a mechanical keyboard (still not sure if mine is one of those or not, noob I know). What I do know for sure though is that this was an infuriating experience, so I'm getting a gamepad.

Just a heads up to anyone who's planning to play using a keyboard. It might not work at all.

Sry but this is hilarious. You are having trouble executing a normal throw on keyboard? Are you serious? And you don't need to mash anything at all. What kinda crappy keyboard you have that doesn't let you push two keys simultaneously? Even my old budget keyboard could handle SFIV. My current one is also cheap but has anti-ghosting on the left side. Too bad Capcom made it so that I cannot remap the keys.

Anyway the game is perfectly playable with a keyboard excluding the 360 motions. Those are a bit tricky.

Tested again on my keyboards (slim Dell and old mechanical Cherry), throws work instantly, also Zangiefs Lariat (3 punch buttons + back forth arrows). Some Keyboards cannot hadle multiple simultanious inputs, so I guess yours is probably one of these. There are also AutoHotkey scripts which bind 2 or more keyboard inputs to one button.

But i definitely prefer playing fighting games on game controllers instead, especially for characters with 360 ° motions.

tl;dr Some key combinations WON'T work on your keyboard no matter how hard you try because of the way they are built. Your only chance if you don't want to invest in a keyboard with antighosting is to rebind keys until you find a configuration that allows you to press all the buttons you need at the same time.

and? you tell people who own a keyboard to skip for now. thats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and a misleading warning. it has nothing to do with mechanical keyboard or not..yours is bad.

warn people about your keyboard and not to play with keyboards in general

Already did. And I explained that it might be a ghosting issue in the OP. People are ought to read not just the title but the whole thing, which made things clear. Edited the title just in case.

Have you tried updating the firmware of your keyboard? I remember this used to happen on my old Logitech keyboard, but I was able to fix it with a firmware update.

TC you may want to invest in a 360 controller. Which will come in handy not only for this game but many other games as well.

EDIT: a wired 360 controller is only 27 bucks on amazon (official ones). I say it's a good investment.
also make sure you get wired. wireless cause problems with windows as far as I recall.
