Is there anyway to beat wakeup DP?
It seems wakeup DP beats everything short of block/bate. Is there anyway to stay on the offense against ken/ryu's wake up DP? Or is block the only way?

IMO, any invincible reversal wake-up just forces a mind game between the two players: the trade-off between breaking non-true blockstings or knock down pressure vs getting a full CC combo for a huge chunk of life. Respect the fact that people can reversal you, but bait it if they use it often. If you don't show them that you can take 40% of their life or so off a miscalculation, there's no reason for them not to keep spamming it. Watch their habits in the first few knock downs. It's a high risk, moderate reward move type.

Why ask that if you can just tell us the answer in training mode?

Is there any safe ways to bait a wake up DP as bison?

Walk forward until touching, block.

Corner crossup can beat DP, I just tried it on training.
A move consists of 3 parts:
-Startup
-Active
-Recovery

Ryu his Medium and EX dp have invincible startup frames, then it goes over in active frames from which point hitboxes play a role. Your jump over "beat" the dp because it doesn't have a hitbox in the back and your crossup jump attack does have a hitbox slightly in the back for the crossup to work. The person doing the dp will get air reset after you do the crossup because they are airborne.

You might have dealt a bit of damage but now you have to take ANOTHER chance again as they might be able to do ANOTHER dp.

The crossup jump is ok as a round ender wher eyou only need a bit of damage. Otherwise you should simply bait it out and have your Crush Counter combo ready. You should be able to take atleast 1//3rd of their life depending on your resources.

Stop committing so much, you should do what you normally do and try to see what it takes for that person to wakeup dp, or dp in general. Then pretend you're going to do it again, but instead block, they'll dp and you can get a counter. That'll condition them to stop doing it

Block or shimmy.
Block and punish.

As many have already stated, don't attack these characters on wakeup all the time if you're confident that your read of a so-called 'wake up DP' is coming. Mix up your play.

Maybe another way of thinking about this is asking you how you dealt with Bisons, Akumas and Dhalsims in SF4 who teleported away on wakeup? What was your strategy then?

It's all about learning each matchup seperately. After all, you wouldn't want to be standing next to Gief or T-Hawk on their wakeups in SF4, SSF2T or any other self-respecting Street Fighter game would you?! You're gonna get dunked.

Ryu, Ken, Cammy, Necalli, are the only characters in the game with a meterless invincible reversal, it means they can DP without any meter and they have about 6-8 frames of invincibility, the only way to beat a wake up invincible DP, is to DP at the wake up of your opponent, which is stupid and no one should do it.

Ryu and Ken's MP Shoryuken is the only invincible option, Necalli's HP DP is the only invincible one for him, and all of cammy's DP are invincible.

Roll back is the nessesary evil, the alternative is far far worse, and if your internet (and your oponents just isn't total trash.) its not really a concern.

It can but if they don't wakeup DP you have now just put yourself in the corner.
