Is there anyway to beat wakeup DP?
It seems wakeup DP beats everything short of block/bate. Is there anyway to stay on the offense against ken/ryu's wake up DP? Or is block the only way?

Sounds like you're dealing with the million online bad ryus who spam DP. Unfortunately block is the only thing that stops DP.

damn.....doesn't wake up DP have ANY vernerable frames at all?

no MP DP is invincible... that's why you get a cruch counter for blocking it

Yeah whats the problem. Just anticipate block and get the absolute best punish you can get. I love DP trigger happy players

a VERY well timed meaty.

Just pray for their mistake DP

All you can really do is block and then get crush counter.

The tricky part is if if they are not a DP user who predictably does it on wakeup. Handling wakeup of someone with invincible reversal is a touchy thing.

And while lacking invincibility Guile's flash kick and Ibuki's kick are also dangerous.

Walk backwards. 100% certain it will beat wakeup DP.

you can't. mp dp is invulnerable from frame 1

And considering I guess Laura can drain a huge chunk of your lifebar off of one whiffed DP for instance...yeah, just blocking is the investment to make.

Corner crossup can beat DP, I just tried it on training.

Yes deep crossup in right timing but very risky...I do a lot of time to crossup at Ken and Ryu but this rollback killed me....

Yooo the rollback is a real issue :/ Love watching someone take dmg & being thrown to the ground only to watch their health regenerate & im getting jump kicked in the face lol.

Wake Up DP can only be beaten by blocking and punishing accordingly after he whiffs it. Don't get too scared though , cause if they notice they'll either start throw at you or just ignore your positioning. And try to find ways to bait it , especially if the fella likes to use it between strings. Light Punch , Block , DP gets block , Punish him for how easily he wanted to get away from you. Characters like Necalli can literally get a ♥♥♥♥ load of damage just from DP gone wrong from the opponent. If u play Urien however and have V-Trigger , you can place it behind you so that if he does that , he'll fall on Aegis Reflector on the way down and at least you'll be back in neutral and NOT on Defence.

It's a sad reality but i learned the hard way that wake up DP is a possibility here. I come from guilty gear and the worst that we have to worry about is wakeup super , but we have tons of ways out of it (hell even slow down time just to block while we are in the air). In case of a DP spammer we can usually force it to block with Okizeme and Set-ups with projectiles while we stay away and this is something available for every character , not just a few. Also in GG unless it's a counter DP , usually we can always counter with either parry (Blitz Shield) or just get the hell out by slowing down time (assuming they don't make a read or are not freaking above us)
