Win in Casual or Rank battles, do trials for each character, Do extra battles or special battles. Level up each character gives you also FM.

You get most of the FM by levelling up. To do that you can play character stories, survival, combo trials & see demonstrations. Clearing them will count only once per character. You can also level up by playing ranked or casual. Winning in ranked also give you FM, albeit very little. And lastly, there are weekly missions for you to farm, which also give you little FM but sometimes there can be quite a bit more if a golden Shadaloo soldier shows up.

I didn't realize you could get fight money and experience from casual matches. Do they reward the same? Or can you get more experience from casual matches? I have a few characters that are close to leveling up, but I don't have the skills to get through Hard Survival. I do have the skills to lose casual matches, though. Maybe even win one or two!
casual awards same xp and fight money as ranked. if you clear survival modes you can earn tickets for fighting chance, which can give certain colors and costumes. the best way to get fight money for new players is to focus on getting every character to lvl 20, since each lvl up gives 1000 fight money

I wouldn't recommend you play casual. It's actually much harder than playing ranked at rookie or bronze ranks. The thing with casual is that the mode is infested with smurfs, and if there is none, it takes forever to find a match due to low player count. Casual smurfs are basically silver/gold players who can't climb any higher, so they make alts in order to feel better bullying noobs.

As for Hard Survival, it's actually not very hard as long as you have enough items. You can get a bunch of them from Easy Survival or Arcade. If you stack enough items, even a lv8 boss means nothing, although it will take a lot more items to complete compared to Normal.

Oh, I am quite aware of the abundance of smurfs in casual. But if I can throw a low-level character there who only needs 50 or so points to level up, it could work, and not damage my ranking. Sure, I'm only Super Bronze, but if all I need is fight money....

Any suggestions or advice? I've tried using items while playing through hard, but it seems like I always get stomped once I pass opponent #20. The highest I've gotten has been 26. And since I'm trying to get 1 million FM for the achievement, I'm not too keen on the idea of spending it to continue from that spot.

I've tried Extreme survival once. I didn't even get out of the single digits. :squirtmeh:

Try experimenting the character you are going to use in Survival in Training. No matter how hard they are, they will have at least 1 easy combo that can do around 200 damage. The CPU is usually bad against jumping or sweeping, so you can use that to your advantage. It only takes a few minutes to come up with a jumping combo that is relatively safe against CPU. Just set the CPU in training to block after first hit and start figuring out your combo.

For example, if you want to grind Seth's Survival, spam jHP>sHP>236HP (incidentally this can also be done with most characters). If the CPU blocks the jHP, simply switch to cMK and it will usually fail to block. If you can land the 236HP and you have full CA meter, cancel it into CA.

If your character has a target combo, abuse it. A good example is Cody's sLP x4 combo. If he has a fireball move, do the same to drain CPU's health. Some characters also have abusable moves like Chun's lightning kick, Honda's headbutt, Rashid's Eagle Spike or Abigail's flip.

Sometimes you can use a throw but don't abuse it because CPU is really good at teching throws. If your character has a command throw, however, abuse it (like G's 63214K) as CPU usually won't be able to counter it. Using wakeup DP against CPU is also effective if you get knock down.

As for items, the first priority should be health recovery items (including regen), but only use them if the end stage bonus doesn't give you enough health to heal. CPU lv4 and lower are usually so dumb that you don't even need any item to beat. If the CPU is lv5 or higher, stacking some defense and attack buff will make the match a lot easier.

That's all I can think of for now. Hope it helps.

Fight money is a shadoW of its former self. So well yeah after you played all character stories its just 50fm. Nothibg good enough. You grind hard or buy.
