As for Hard Survival, it's actually not very hard as long as you have enough items. You can get a bunch of them from Easy Survival or Arcade. If you stack enough items, even a lv8 boss means nothing, although it will take a lot more items to complete compared to Normal.
Oh, I am quite aware of the abundance of smurfs in casual. But if I can throw a low-level character there who only needs 50 or so points to level up, it could work, and not damage my ranking. Sure, I'm only Super Bronze, but if all I need is fight money....
Any suggestions or advice? I've tried using items while playing through hard, but it seems like I always get stomped once I pass opponent #20. The highest I've gotten has been 26. And since I'm trying to get 1 million FM for the achievement, I'm not too keen on the idea of spending it to continue from that spot.
I've tried Extreme survival once. I didn't even get out of the single digits.
For example, if you want to grind Seth's Survival, spam jHP>sHP>236HP (incidentally this can also be done with most characters). If the CPU blocks the jHP, simply switch to cMK and it will usually fail to block. If you can land the 236HP and you have full CA meter, cancel it into CA.
If your character has a target combo, abuse it. A good example is Cody's sLP x4 combo. If he has a fireball move, do the same to drain CPU's health. Some characters also have abusable moves like Chun's lightning kick, Honda's headbutt, Rashid's Eagle Spike or Abigail's flip.
Sometimes you can use a throw but don't abuse it because CPU is really good at teching throws. If your character has a command throw, however, abuse it (like G's 63214K) as CPU usually won't be able to counter it. Using wakeup DP against CPU is also effective if you get knock down.
As for items, the first priority should be health recovery items (including regen), but only use them if the end stage bonus doesn't give you enough health to heal. CPU lv4 and lower are usually so dumb that you don't even need any item to beat. If the CPU is lv5 or higher, stacking some defense and attack buff will make the match a lot easier.
That's all I can think of for now. Hope it helps.
