Bad Choppy Lag In All Modes (Even Single Player).
Does anybody else have this problem? This is the only game I have this issue with. Even in training mode it just lags. I have a powerful PC that plays everything else just fine.

I've tried turning on and off V-sync, turning the resolution down, updating and downgrading my drivers, only using the training stage, and I've even removed all mods and cranked up my performance and my matches get really choppy.

Has anybody found a solution to this? What do you recommend? Even if I turn off all other programs I get this issue. No browser, no picture viewer, nothing.

Thanks.

Yep. I did that because someone on another forum mentioned it (back when I used mods). Any other 3d settings you recommend changing that might help?

I've heard different things working for different games so I'm always open to trying them out. Thanks.

You can also try to reset the SFV profile on Nvidia Control Panel, and again select Max Performance. Some programs can interfere on game performance, try closing every program that you have in use and run only the game.
What I did this morning was do a clean install of Nvidia with all new everything and put it under max performance. I did play in low spec mode and tweaked some of the settings which seems to have helped somewhat. It varies based on stage and net lag though.

Edit: I have a sneaking suspicion it's the resolution scaling setting. I just put it at 99 and maxed out everything else and it's fine. It seems like this effects it more than the other settings for some odd reason. (I could have it at low but with 100 scaling and it lagged like crazy).

That's really strange bug you are having. For me (and I think many others) the problem was the GPU using less MHz, as if it considered SFV a very light game and used the low performance mode for it. So it's kind of obvious that the game was not running well using little of the video card's capacity. xD Selecting maximum performance solved the problem for SFV (and even Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, which also happened with me). And this is a recent problem that came up after some Nvidia driver.

You know what. I'm going to try adjusting it because I just changed my driver and it can reset. I had power consumption to maximum performance but not graphics on this driver.

Let me try again and report to you.

Try windowed mode. Might stop lagging completely. Then if it works, just use the BorderlessGaming app.
That's actually what I was doing. I had it at 1280x720 so I could multitask anyways and to test the performance. The suggestion about the graphics card helped although it will still dip occasionally.

In regards to the borderless gaming app, I thought it made it lag more? I'll have to look into it again.

Oh you're talking about the Steam program. Cheers. :)

Chiming in here to help. I had frame rate slowdowns because of my monitor being above 60 hertz. possibly freesync /gsync If your monitor is above 60 hertz perhaps setting it to that will fix it.

Hmm. I am using nvidia inspector. Should I drop my frame rate to 60 fps then? My monitor is 144 hertz Gsync? I usually run at 120 FPS but I have been tinkering.

Thanks.

Tried going down to 60 hz in settings menu and still getting it. This is odd. It also seems to play worse later in the day. Does the server affect it or something?

I have tried setting pre-renedered frames to 1. This seems to help a lot. I will come back later, because maybe someone else has this problem and this thread can be a reference. It does change the timing of combos as it introduces a bit of input lag (have to input a bit quicker).

I had similar issues of late...I'm running the game on windows 7 64-bit. The game would lag to 50~54 fps down from 60 as soon as I began search for an opponent while in practice mode. It would stay like that until I left match making. I found a fix by changing the visual theme in Appearance and Personalization settings. Turning off windows Aero, by selecting a non Aero theme.

If you have nvidia try turning off vertical sync. It seem to be broken.
I don't think Windows 10 has Aero Theme but if you (In Windows 10) Right click This PC and click properties-> advanced system settings-> advanced. Then go to performance and set it for max performance it could help.

I tried V sync but I'm trying this new setting I just listed above to see if it helps.
