Why is my game in slo-motion?

So I finally got the game during the recent sale and although I have a GTX 1080, the game was running kinda in some sort of slow-motion. So I looked up solutions on the net and the only thing to get the game up to normal speed is to turn off V-Sync? Seriously?

Now even the Capcom logo before the title-screen is tearing! This can't be it... anyone please has a solution for me?

This is happening a lot with Nvidia users by some time. This started after an driver version. For some reason the GPU will run a specific game with the low performance mode (you can check that with MSI Afterburner for example, you will see that the GPU is running with a lower clock for SFV). To solve that, go to Nvidia Control Panel - Per App Settings - select Street Fighter V. Go to Power Mode: select Maximum Performance, and then click Apply to save the modification. That should solve the low framerate problem with Street Fighter V (do that for any game that have the same problem).

Thank you. During gameplay it would occassionalyl drop to 30 FPS. This fixed the problem for now.

I thought I would chime in here for those of you that didn't get a resolution from the above posts.

I did try what was explained above to no avail, however, I did some troubleshooting simply by starting on the low spec mode and increasing graphics until I saw the issue of the slow motion starting to arise.

My conclusion was easy.

For me it was a resolution issue.

I noticed when I increased the resolution scale in the graphics options the slow motion issue showed its ugly head.

So, I ran on high graphics on everything and just turned down the Resolution scale to 71.

This fixed the issue without any slow motion or frame rate drop at all. I assume this is because I do have resolution scaling on my desktop. I resized it to fit my wide screen.

I think SV5 did not take that ♥♥♥♥ well.


The game still is a cash cow P2W crapfest, but if you paid enough into the game before it was evident that greedy corporate bastards were going to destroy the game, you can play it in offline mode now without any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ portal issues.

I hope this helps, and if it didn't, then ♥♥♥♥ it, you aren't missing much except for commercials in a video game.

If you use Discord, you can also try to disable hardware acceleration (options > appearance > hardware acceleration > turn it off and restart discord).
