You don't need every single Dhalsim and Chun costume if that's what you consider "complete". They're skins. Cosmetics. It doesn't matter. Stages might be a different story, but that's also cosmetics, and probably 4 out of 5 matches in this game take place in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Grid anyway and people will whine about the 1 match that didn't.
It does matter, the monetisation of every single part of a game is an issue, skins use to be free or unlocks, now it's $800 of DLC, it's not appropriate.
And again, no one's forcing you to buy skins. They have no effect on the actual gameplay.
Imagine still being salty about a game you dont like in 2019.
Maybe capcom supports the game because people still play and enjoy it.
I just wait until there's a sale and get it 50% off anyway, like any sane person I think would do. It goes on sale regularly enough that the wait is never that long. I only paid $40 for the AE when it came out and $15 for season 3. Got Poison/Honda/Lucia with FM. I have a complete game for $55. Minus Kage of course, but honestly I don't care, though I could FM him if I really wanted.
I wouldn't really call those DLC but unlockabes.
Seeing as they where in the game day one.
Seing as the unlock code for them whas like 1-2$.
SFV DLC is all post game content. Althou id argue about Season 1 seeing as all season 1 characters are in the Obviously developed from the start story mode so its less like post game content and more like unfinished content seeing as the game whas relessed in almost early acsses state.
Season 2 3 and Curent one are all post game developed.
Last I checked to get all the COD Games, it was like $900, or more in funds, o_@
SF5 is surely making Street Fighter rise up to become more like COD now, ~_~
While other Games might have higher pricing on DLC, SF5 has a crap load more
of it, at somewhat simular pricing...
& there isn't really all that much you can do, they don't seem to be lowering DLC
Costs, nor allowing to get DLC bundled together...
So far, MK11 gives out all of it's DLC in 1 Season Pass...
Jump Force is doing the same...
SF4 had 1 way to handle this as well, not perfectly, but it was
allowing the User to buy DLC in some way cheaper...
SF5 on the other hand, just completely screws over the Players with huge
DLC Costs... You can buy Deluxe or AE Editions, but I don't think that
will make the Game all that much Cheaper in terms of DLC... I mean
their even starting to sell portions of the Story Mode now, that has to be a
horrible Marketing Tactic, o_@
DLC for SFV at full price is $580 but almost all of it is cosmetics that don't affect how you play in any way (except maybe increasing your enjoyment of playing a character). The only DLC that actually matters is the character passes which are $10, $20, and $30 but go on sale for half off every other month. Waiting for a sale and paying $30 in DLC for all 18 characters is not a bad deal.
I said portions of Story Mode, not the whole thing...
Let me get some DLC titles to show this...
Srry, I miss read it, but I guess it was only 1 DLC, but it seems to be
crucial to the Story, & I dun get why this is a DLC at all... It says it's
just extra portions of Story, or an Expansion, but I don't really think
I can believe that it's just an Expansion...
It does say that it's Free, but the fact that it's separate when it should
not be, just makes you curious if more of that will happen in the future,
possibly being paid DLC...
SF4 forced you to repurchase the entire game to get the DLC, and cut the playerbase in doing so. You either bought the new game or you were left behind; this wasn't an option. It's cute honestly that people still try to pretend that SFV is doing some horrible underhanded tactics with it's current character system, when promising not to resell the same game with a balance patch and some Ryu reskins added into it is legit one the best things they've done. But usually when people pretend SF4 did something better, it's because they got the game in Ultra and have no clue what was going on, and assume that's the state the game was released in.
And yet again, most of the "crap load more" is a silly statement when vast majority of DLC is just cosmetic skins that you have zero reason to care about. Unless you wanna play Dhalsim and really wanna dress your boy like a mummy, you have no reason to care about Dhalsim costumes. If you only look at the character DLC, the only thing that actually affects the gameplay, SFV is right there in the same price range with every other active major fighting game.
There is talks of Season Pass 2 already, & what might be part of it, & there is already
a Roadmap that shows when it might hit the Market... Weather it gets here or not, or
if the Game will still have people playing by the time it gets here, is a whole nother story, o_@
SF4 forced you to repurchase the entire game to get the DLC, I do not know about this,
as I got SF4 later then others, & right now that does not seem to be the case, as I have
paid for SF4 on PC, & did not experience this at all, & it was not an issue on the PS3
when I played on PS3... So while that might have been an issue for Launch players on
PC, it is no longer a problem for new players... The real issue right now for SF4 is that
SF4 on the PC is not the same as it is on Consoles...
on Consoles you could play any Edition of SF4, through owning all the Games,
& you would get different Results with Gameplay, & such, but on PC, it works
completely different from the Consoles... ~_~
Washing Machine replied about DLC, Costs, & it just being Cosmetics...
Again, you gotta remember, i'm not the complainer here, the OP is,
& the DLC being a Visual Change, or some other Change to the Game,
does not change the fact that the pricing is quite high, & there is a crap
load of DLC... If you tallied up all of it together, you might find out the Full
Game costs like a crazy number in Costs...
Mind you, some Games might have Weapons & such people don't want as DLC,
& only want Costumes, because it won't make any changes to the Game...
I dunno what kind of dum crap people are arguing over there...
But in a Fighting Game, this really is not the case here, as Costume DLC is
actually the point in buying DLC for Fighting Games, Extra Costumes & Characters,
are things people would want, if that is a problem for them, you aren't going to
make them any happier by just telling them it's just a cosmetic thing... ~_~
