I think plenty of characters have something like that? No one just bothers since it's rarely worth it.
And to be honest no, thats a bad idea.
The idea that 1f links ´were harder but rewarded better is a myth that carried over from SFIV, the majority of 1f links were unnecessary hard BnB Combos that didn't even reward much.
It is a myth and a bad one, the best thing is to keep them away and never let them return.
Cody could do f.mp, cr.lp xx mk. Ruffian
OOOOR
f.mp, st.mp, cr.hp xx mk. Ruffian
Poison could land overhead into super if you could link it.
Then compare every other Dudley to Smug.
This line alone is nonsense, Execution adds no depth to the game, it never does.
Aknowledging defeat it always a good option, glad that you gave up.
After intermediate level play, it became an awful habit that didn't really work on higher level players, and it left you deeply wanting that damage optimization.
Vega had a jab 1 frame bnb in IV, but almost every other 1 framer could be plinked, making it a 2 frame. Even in IV, which was lauded as having tons of 1 frame links, most of the time people were hitting it with 1 frame leniency. (2 frame links.)
There's nothing inherent to 1-frame links that would promise additional combo routes. If they would go out of their way to allow more 1-frame links, there won't be any new combos unless they directly allow a link between the different moves.
If they're doing that, there's no reason to disable the frame buffer.
