i would say Fist of the North Star did it before both, later Dragon Ball, and last but not least Street Fighter

Yep, Fost of the North Star was first with chucking plasma, altough is was sparcely used in the series.

FoNS had a hadoken motion (you know, one knee down, palms together forward, etc etc)?

I always thought Ken pretty much pummeled other guys to death, so... yeah...
I guess I learn something new every day.

Space battleship yamota, i think os the name which was 70s spawned hadouken, so not a race between the 2 both are predated.
