How do you pull off charge moves?
I've heard some players don't like charge characters cause they're harder than normal ones. Also is it just counting to like 2 seconds to pull off a move? How do you guys know how to pull off a charge move quickly and efficiently? Like there was a Guile trial were you have to jump kick, punch, and then instantaneously charge kick.

You have to be charging while doing other actions.
As long as the character is being charged in the correct direction, it doesn't matter what the character is doing.

You have to be buffering the charge as much as you can, even during other moves. For example, the first trial: Jump Kick into crouch punch into somersault kick. You have to hold down after hitting the jump kick, which should give it enough time to charge by the time you need to use the charge move. In neutral, holding down back is your best friend because you can be holding a charge for both sonic boom and somersault kick if needed.

Charge characters are more work because you have to be mindful of charging, the motions are actually simpler. And the time it takes to charge depends on the special. I believe sometimes even the strength can affect that, for instance some EX versions require more or less time to charge than non-EX.

And without knowing which trial you're talking about I can't say for certain, but odds are you start charging down during the jump. So forward jump, then immediately start charging down so by the time you get the punch out you'll have enough charge to flash kick cancel. Other trials might require you charge during hit stun, for instance Guile's st. HP, immediately hold down back, cr. MP, sonic boom. And there's weirdness like "standing" flash kicks and holding back while walking forward.

It's just a matter of getting the timing for the charge down and figuring out which attacks/combos will give you that much time.

I read this title as "How dare you pull off charge moves?" and was so amused.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good advice in this thread. Like anything else, when you play a charge character long enough, you get a sense for how long you need to charge for and when/where you can buffer the charge.

I've never really felt charge characters were hard, but I imagine that mindset comes from not being able to just instantly whip out any special move whenever.

I wish I knew the answer. I tried for weeks to learn Guile combos. I can't do it. I don't see how I'm supposed to move towards an opponent mid-combo while also holding back. No matter how I approach it, there's never enough time to charge.

Which trial specifically gave you trouble? They are doable.

Can't look it up. Can't even remember.

My attempts were made while the character was available for free. I couldn't get anywhere with Guile. So I never purchased him, and avoid playing characters with charge moves.

I know that people can do the combos. I've seen it. I, however, cannot do them.
