How to do double fireball motion from the left side?
Please only people that play with a fightstick for over a year or more (or are just naturals) should respond with their experience.
-------------------
I pretty much can do all the movements with a fight stick fluently now exept one: the double fireball motion standing at the left side.

I use a balltop. On the right side it is so easy cause you can "pull" the lever. Yet on the left side you have to push the lever which takes me ages.

How do other people do the double fireball motion? (or normal firebal motion for that matter)
What is your technique? Is there a shortcut?

Cheers :)

You do QCF x's 2.

First you have to be able to throw a fireball after that its just practice really, not sure if there are any shortcuts. Make sure you're comfortable with whatever grip your using and stick movement should be done only with you're fingers and wrist you're arm should never move. Turning on input histroy also helps you pinpoint where you're going wrong.

There's no shortcuts. You just do QCF x's 2.

THe normal firebal is no problem, for some reason the double firebal gives me trouble ^^
Thx for the tips. Guess it is just more practice. Getting a new main and will be zeku I think ^^

It is about speed and accuracy.

I can do it faster and more accurately from the right side as well.

Since it's the standard Critical Art movement for just about everyone except Zangief, you do need to know it. Good thing is, that it's easier than cancelling into from something else; when you do it on it's own with a fightstick, don't go back. Go straight down, let it snap back and do it again and press punch/kick depending on your character.

I suggest practicing with Ryu. The system for just a CA on it's own doesn't require super fast timing, but you're probably struggling with the timing. Do 1. So practice the fireballs. Get a character into the training mode right wall. Just throw fireballs out quickly (the distance will minimise and allow you to throw a few out). Get a feel for doing that faster.

Then just have a crack at doing the double. Your neural pathways need time to learn the movement plus when to press an attack button. From there, it's a simpler lesson to throw a fireball and cancel into Ryu's CA; you do one fireball and then another very, very fast and the first one cancels and becomes the CA.

This is probably one of the best lessons to learn. You'll notice Ryu's trials have his light kick into his tatsu (QCB + Kick) then it juggles the bot and you can do his CA on them. Practice doing that next...I forget which trial it is, or just do that in training mode.

Then I'd recommend learning his shoryuken and cancelling it into his CA. It's a bit different and the fireball cancel into CA may come out, but it get's there.

Feel satisfied then? Pick R.Mika and get use to doing the same pattern but in reverse regarding where you stand as her CA is a quarter circle backwards motion 2x.The pattern may be the same but your brain has to get use to doing it whilst facing your opponent in another direction.

BTW, for Zangief. His spinning pile driver is not a 360...you only need to do 225 degrees. And his CA is 540 degrees or one and a half revolutions. It's the hardest thing on stick to do other than Guile's flashkick cancel into Sonic Hurricane/Tempest (which is not easy to learn on a fightstick).
What is your grip style?
I prefere the "american whine glass" grip: https://youtu.be/IXP0kc9Sry8?t=287

I can't do it well from the left side either. On the right side it is a lot easier, but standing on left it is very hard especially in a combo and especially cancelling a normal fireball or shoryuken into it. It's just not a comfortable way to move my hand. But I like how you described it, pulling it vs pushing it. One is just more natural than the other :/

the way i practice it is with mika, hp into CA. her CA is a command grab so if you are too slow it'll whiff. Try to find a way to relax your arm, looseness eqauls speed, tension eqauls resistance. All tension will start in your shoulder and lock your elbow, forarm and wrist. Try to have your arm remain relaxed and stationary and concentrate on only using your fingers only.

Practice man. Go into triaing mode and use any of the characters with a double roll critical art , set your CA gauge to maximum and turn on display inputs. While using the joystick , listen closely to what it's actually doing - you should hear clicks from microswitches , slowly cycle through them - you'll feel a click from holding down , then a second click as you roll the stick into the diagonal position , 2 switches will be depressed and finally as you roll further - into the forward position and third click , that will be the first switch popping back out. Whether you're on the left or the right side of the screen , you just want to get a feel for exactly how hard you gotta move the stick to click those switches. Don't hold the stick with your whole fist and never let go of it either, try using 2 fingers and a thumb. You aren't so much pushing or pulling it , just rolling that ball top around between your fingers and thumb. Next , the actual input being 2 quarter circles forward followed by a punch or a kick depending on the character. Just do the motion a few times from each side of the screen without hitting a button, pay close attention to your inputs (remember to turn them on) so you can see that the game is seeing down, down forward, forward. Picking Ryu is a good choice becase obviously he can toss a fireball with just 1 roll. This helps you get to doing 2 rolls because what you want to practice is throwing 10 fireballs in a row without dropping one , from each side of the screen. Just repeat it over and over for a few minutes every day. If you can do that , move on to the critical art- do it 10 times in a row from each side without dropping it , keep practicing it. This will take some time of course so have patience. Eventually you'll get it and it'll be second nature to toss out a critical art .. well the input anyway. Good luck and have fun.

For the double fireball motion, the best I can explain it is that typically I'd grip the ball with my thumb, index, and middle, while my ring and pinky are curled in, barely touching the stick if possible. So it's kinda like the "wineglass" grip. Pulling down on it is self explainatory, but pushing it right is a bit odd to explain. My hand would so almost straighten out like a "gun" sign and it is actually the lower third (or the lower knuckles) of my index and middle pushing on the stick while my thumb moves out of the way. For a double fireball, there would almost like a "rolling" motion when transitioning from the first to second fireball motion. It's hard to explain.

After watching Gootecks video that was posted above, his method is similar to mine it seems like, but mine's inherently more exaggerated. Hope you find your style.
