Fight stick not working after every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update
So yeah it just updated again with the huge 24GB patch and now my fight stick won't work AGAIN. I keep recalibrating and whatnot but it still won't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work. So close to giving up on this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

It's possible you can get it to work by going into the Steam Big Picture mode and changing the controller support settings there (try changing the Ps4 or XBONE controller support toggles.)

As a related question, what arcade sticks are people finding that 'just work' with SFV? I was looking into an XBONE RAP4, but I'd prefer to hear that it works from someone who has one.

It's a little tricky cause it's a ♥♥♥♥♥ to set up. Not sure if it's a bug on the mapping screen or whatever but I managed to get it to work.

Brooks Universal Fighting Board works in PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One mode.
All Madcatz fightstick Pro/Tournament Edition sticks work.
Original Qanba Q4raf should work, but no proof about if it works now or not. It worked on original vanilla release but the entire PCB was removed for a Brook UFB (make sure you buy an extra heavy mini sanwa button spring for the start button so you don't press it on accident).
Qanba Obsidian and Dragon work.
Hori Rap4 Kai works as long as it has a 'PC' mode button for x-input (the original version several years ago didn't).
No idea about Hori Rap V.

Thanks for this! Very informative. Will try to find a Madcatz stick as a back up or probaby another Qanba one. What would you suggest?

My X arcade works just fine with this game... They released a new zero lag pcb to make it more user friendly.

If you have multiple controllers plugged in, you will need to enable controller support for ONLY your stick in Steam controller settings, and disable the rest. I only figured that out when I played another game with the same issue that SFV had since the big controller update. Since then my Qanba Q1SW has been working fine, even after the latest update of SFV.

Yeah I get that much that it has to be one at a time and stuff but whatever setting I have gets wiped after every update. it's just irritating needing to fix it after every patch

All non XBOX360 compatible controllers are supported directly through Steam's controller API, which means that if there is a controller issue, it's usually Steam's settings.

Example:
The last Steam update a couple of days ago fixed some issues with Victrix arcade sticks.

SFV's in-game controller settings are basically just for swapping button layouts.
