Street Fighter V
Suddenly getting horrible slowdown
I've been playing SFV on and off for months, got 25 hours in the game. Up till now, performance has been great, absolutely no problems whatsoever. But since yesterday, I'll often get into practice and find the game running in slow motion, like I'm underwater. This isn't a problem with my PC; same computer I've been using for the last 25 hours of gameplay. I've done a bit of googling and apparently this is a pretty common problem, but I can't seem to find any real fixes. Any ideas?

Check the power settings in your nvidia control panel. I read that this is a common fix for the slow down problem.

edit: i don't have nvidia hardware, myself, so I can't experiment with the setting.

I have this problem, but I can always fix it :D Try to launch discord, or paintnet, or some program on background with game. In my situation, I have 100% GPU usage, which causes slowdowns. This is not a joke.

just pop Important things to max, and other stuff to High.
Discord? But it's not using the GPU and I don't recall it having an overlay.

Well that's bizarre.
What Celtic pointed was the problem to this game to Nvidia GPU users. it is the Vsync modification. Since i dont know your game list library you must do a "restore" and it will fix it. then you fix all your games to your liking.

1. taskbar
2. slide mouse to "hidden icons"
3. Open Nvidia Setting
4. Make sure it is highlighted at Manage 3D settings
5. Click the Restore button
6. Click Yes

I hope this is as easy as it gets :)

Opening paintnet did the trick, thanks!
that too always get rid of programs you dont barely use. your Rig is a gaming rig not an productivity one.
Messed with the Nvidia power settings for SFV, set it to the high performance mode or whatever. It was working the next time I played; will have to test it over the next few days to see if it's really fixed or I just got lucky.
So im in trials mode and my game is also dipping down to 30 fps constantly. Can anybody help me? Any ideas?
Interesting, I have over 600 hours in this game. Was playing with the new characters this morning no problem. I go and get the new Bison skin from chance game. I get the skin and give it a go in training mode. Now the FPS has dropped to 30 in match and 40 on character select screen....

I had a slow down before in season 1 and it was the game trying to use the onboard intel graphics instead of my GPU. I fixed that in BIOS years ago. What is the deal now?

Edit: I have a Radeon RX 480, so no Nvidia.

Disable V-sync in nvidia center control panel

I fixed my issue with Radeon Settings for those of you having the issue with a Radeon card.

1. I rest my settings in SFV profile on Radeon Settings software

2. Then set: 'Wait for Vertical Refresh' to 'On unless application specifies'.

Back to 60 fps for all menus and matches.
i was getting like 60fps rock solid yesterday, today i was getting sub 20fps and it was a crawl. after reading some suggestions i used my nvidia control panel and set antialiasing mode to OFF and power management to prefer maximum performance and now instead of running at medium or low i can run at max settings at 60. so yeah, AA has been iffy as of late on nvidia.
