You can call bs w/e u want, it's still bs. There's a saying, you can put clothes on a sheep, it's still a sheep.
Won’t be BS anymore if you figure out a way around it, like recognizing patterns of when they love to chuck plasma. All they really need is for you to block one fireball and run away for the rest of the round to win.
The name of this: macro. The Ryu player doesn't know any combo. Just know zoning.
That Ryu knew exactly how to exploit you enough to win. It is crap, though I loved neutralizing people that tried to exploit rinse and repeat movesets.

Although you were way more skilled than that Ryu player, there is one reason why they won and you have not. You wanted to outplay your opponent, and they just wanted to win.
Hi. I am ButtonMasherNoob, the lame “macro” y’all were dissing. Here to share with you the following facts:

1. Chun Li dominates Ryu on the ground and neutral. Any Chun Li that stays grounded and dukes it out will win this matchup.

2. Getting players to jump over hadouken is the oldest trick in the Street Fighter playbook.

3. PrideSP, you gotta stop jumping my dude, Chun will dominate me if she just plays grounded neutral.

4. Keeping calm. In our next match (video below), you were completely tilted and won’t stop jumping to land that big damage. In this game, a calm, serene, accepting, and analyzing mind wins games, not anger.

First you are lacking in the mind game department.

Then if this Ryu bother you so much to throw fireballs do not use EX meter in your combo and keep them for the CA. Once you have CA he will be forced to come to you.

Do not jump directly after the fireball to punish it, that is not how to do it.

If you can react to his fireballs with Kikoken then you can slide, use it.

Keep the pressure with jumps, slide, pokes (CH), CA and your own normal/EX fireball.

His pattern was mostly : 1 - 2 pause or 1 - 2 - 3 pause.
Even if you get hit from one or two anti-air it should be easy to jump on him at the right time and finish him.

bro fireballs are fukken trash in this game. ur character got multiple options to deal with it + way better normals than ryu
