Tips for fighting Ken as Vega?
So, as per the title... Any tips for fighting him? I main as Vega, but no matter what I do, any Ken player seems to get hit detection precedence from what it seems... I get that it's probably not the case, but it's so infuriating.

I can't get close because the moment I do, the speed and power of his attacks decimate me.

I can't stay far away because, well... Can't really win that way.

And the moment I get within range, every one of his attacks seems to hit faster and almost every EX or special move seems to be stopped by even standard attacks. It's consistently the case and it's driving me insane...

Is this something that can be learned past, or is Ken just one of those characters that you will struggle with as Vega?

I play as Ryu and still have problems with Vegas flying attacks. Some Vega players drive me crazy for their jumping. Vega is faster as Ken so be fast^^

I did just buy myself a fight stick so perhaps I am hindered as I'm still getting used to using it, but it just seems so frustrating lol.

I rarely have problems fighting similar level Ryu players, but Ken seems to own me every damn time lol.

I think it's not Ken himself, it's the player behind him some Ken players only spam DP or do tatsus.

Do Vegas EX diving roll or his flying EX grap or flying scissor move.

Based on the replays, most of your gameplay consisted of backing off to very extreme range and then running into something random, sliding up close or not seemingly having an idea what you were trying to achieve in the first place, and while this part can be attributed to being new to the game and learning and so on, you missed quite a lot of punishes and there were hardly any hitconfirms in situations you could've got at least somewhat decent punish out of it. On top of that if you are unsure, you should block on your wakeup (that is, when you can do something after you get knocked down and temporarily cannot do anything but remain on the ground or backroll\quickrise) as you basically invited the Ken player to go even more ham and random when you pressed something -> counterhit. Or bit more bluntly: you are bashing your head against a wall without understanding you are doing so, and how to possibly avoid it.

Since you seem to be new to the genre, your best start could be spend some time in training, read guides such as https://www.reddit.com/r/StreetFighter/wiki/v/giefsgym and putting some more thought in what you are doing. Although most of the "lessons" are written with Ryu in mind, you can still apply the principle to Vega if you just replace a special move or two. It may take some time before you really level up and have a better idea what you are trying to do, but nobody ever said it's quick and easy path to do so. I am not sure if there are that many useful Vega guides out there though unfortunately.

^ Solid advice.

To add to it, you can kill Ken by simply blocking his shoryukens, Kens love to wake up by doing DP, they also like to DP after you strike them.

Learn when each of your opponents like to DP, and simply block it, then crush-counter them when they land.

To aid you in your learning process try to yodel once or twice yourself each round.

This message is a bit off-topic, but still, when will people understand that saying Vega, Balrog and M. Bison is really confusing because you never know if the person is refering either to the japanese version or to the western version of Street Fighter.
Unless you speak japanese, please use Claw, Boxer and Dictator instead.
