I'm not defending the prices or the system they have in place, but I'm just saying that there is a reason for some people to like it. I personally would rather not have to buy upgrade versions just to keep up with the most relevant release. If they can come up with a way to make everyone happy, then I'm all for it.
This time around, the base game doesn't expire after a year.
Simple, the playerbase is not split with each new release, like it was the case with SFIV.
That is a major improvement, very casual players can come back after some months and play with others Season X, instead of being forced to buy a new super/ultra/hyper version.
I'm more interested in a roadmap reveal more than a character reveal. To be honest I'm a little bit disappointed in this sense, I was expecting a bigger announcement for SFV in general. Characters, ok but that is the "granted" part.
Since they haven't slapped together a quickie arcade mode...that's probably something they are giving more thought and work to. The roadmap of the future yeah.
The "Extra Battle" is still also a mode that was previewed way back at release and not mentioned really over the months.
Really the Character Story mode they had at release...if they had put a bit more effort into it they would have been more covered single player content-wise, and in terms of reviews and word of mouth.
More fights in it, difficulty settings,, 2 out 3 round fights, etc. The idea of prologue vignettes for General Story was a good idea...but not executed well.
I still think they should have put in a minigame mode of wrecking cars, barrels, or something else someone comes up with.
Another idea is a handicap mode where like you fight an opponent or a series of opponents with a handicap or whatever.
Season 1 sales funded the Balance Patch for Season 2 and the characters for Season 2 as well, I understand that the idea of paying more for a game you already own irks a lot of people, but don't you guys think that the people complaining are being a little ungrateful? It's not like this is the only game that's done this, as KI has and is doing this as well in order to keep funding the future seasons.
Besides, it's not like Street Fighter hasn't done this before, they just did it under a different name. It's called Super Street Fighter and Ultra Street Fighter
Lol, you clearly weren't around when it happened then, literally every topic was about how to remove the rootkit or people complaining about the incident. There was even a topic discussion whether or not it was possible for us to sue Capcom for doing this! And lets not even mention how furious the Street Fighter reddit was during all of this. You're absolutely ret@rded if you think most people took this rootkit with open arms.
I had an eye on that thing the whole time.
Since nothing happend and since they removed this ..... "mistake" within 24 hours, is there literaly nothing to complain about from my side.
Noone was harmed, they excused for it, thats enough for me.
