Arcade mode Character Unlocks
So from what I've read (And I'm not sure so that's why I'm asking) people who buy the game once arcade mode releases will get all of the DLC characters instantly.

Does that mean people who bought vanilla ALSO get that DLC? Because if not that's pretty much doing the same exact thing as what they promised they wouldn't do, but just saying it's not.

And if someone says "Well it's only fair because we've had time to unlock them all with ingame money", I'm going to blow a gasket. The only people who actually manged to do that spent hours on the game that only unemployed cretins would throw at the game. For someone who plays other things and actually attempts to live life as well, The income from fighting was pitiful as well as the random resets that took what little I had owned away.

I've heard that only those who buy AE will get all the characters from season 1 and 2.

Pretty sure vanilla owners don't get the DLC, and no, giving new players what's essentially a DLC discount is not even remotely the same as locking out vanilla owners from playing the latest version. That's what happened with SF4 and it's still happening with Guilty Gear.

But it's not, you don't have a separate version to buy (sfiv arcade edition, GG rev etc). That was what they said. The update is free - dlc isn't. Meaning that if you don't buy the arcade edition, you still get the update and still can play with people who bought it. Which is what the point was in not having multiple rereleases - as with those, you would have to buy a repacked version in order to play with others (like Guilty Gear or older street fighters or Battlefield etc).

And if someone says "Well it's only fair because we've had time to unlock them all with ingame money"
I don't regard it as such, I regard it more as "games and other products drop in price with time". I bought Shogun Total war for like 25 bucks with all the dlc after like two years or so. The beginning price of them was well over 100 bucks. It's completely normal. Not only that, but I do the same thing with running shoes.

The only people who actually manged to do that spent hours on the game that only unemployed cretins would throw at the game.
So, employed people buy characters with money. Also, 20-30 hours isn't really "that much spent hours". But I digress.

This capcom memery is tiring. I mean, you could generally dislike the practice, but singling out this as some kind of bad or different notion is jarring.

It depends on how much AE cost but AE is essentially a huge discount towards the base game and S1 and S2 passes and as a result super easy access to FM that can easily cover S3 and maybe even S4 characters, or just be put towards stages, skins,, etc

Technically Capcom didn't break their word at all.
You're just salty that people buying the game 2 years after you are getting a discount... While not realizing you pay more early to play before people who wait to pay less like with any purchase

What Steam has to do is update Street Fighter V 2017 Deluxe Edition to match the AE price as they're the same product or just re-brand it to AE which they'll probably do.

Hopefully they provide a sale on the base prices of the season passes for anyone who wants access to easy FM for cash like the late adoptors

What really sucks now is steam in general. Before you didn't get penalized for being an early adopter, now steam is becoming as trashy as PSN
In the past almost any bundle that came out would have the price readjusted if you owned parts of the bundle, now you can only purchase it as a gift. So dumb

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is essentially a Game of the Year style release. So to break it down:

Pre-Arcade Edition owners:
-All the new modes and gameplay features for free. So no need to buy Arcade Edition to play with the new folks. That is what Capcom meant.

NEW Arcade Edition owners:
- All the new modes and gameplay features
-Season One and Two characters*

So Arcade Edition is $40, and buying the two packs right now is $20 and $30 each, so it is cheaper to get the Arcade Edition if you do not want to grind for the fight money.

Though I'm predicting a price drop to $20 for Season Two, and if were lucky, $10 for Season One since that's older, that's my wish (and a more enticing but for existing players). Maybe when the theoretical Season Three comes out.

Given that is a big update, Capcom had given out a celebratory 50K fight money for the CFN2 update, so I'll predict they'll do the same for the Arcade Edition update.

The game is about two years old now, while other games, such as Bethesda's own Elder Scroll and Fallout series would get their complete editions only a year after. I believe Final Fantasy XI in the past actually came out with starter packs containing all the past expansions to that point for new players ever couple years or so.

The feeling sucks, I know. But you can wait for a sale, Black Friday and Winter is coming.

*There are some confusion regarding the premium costumes whether they are included or not. I still dont know, since I've heard both.

Did any fighting game gave all it's DLC characters for free ever? MKX didn't do that when became MKXL.

SFVAE is just a bundle and capcom will sell discs with dlc codes because base game is the same.

Capcom promised that you will never need to buy new version to play online with everybody and it is true because of free update.

So people really have lost their ability to read...

They have an announcemeant here on steam on multiple websites and on freaking youtube that answers your questions.

It's like people lost their ability to read.

SFV Deluxe Edition was relabeled with each new season til now, so new purchasers of SFV Deluxe Edition 2018 will probably be an updated bundle of Character Season Pass 2016 + 2017 + 2018 + the updated/new base game/modes.

I can't believe how often questions come up that are answered in the intial arcade edition trailer. Is this just a problem with the FGC or are we heading towards an idiocracy!?
John Hunter Oct 15, 2017 @ 12:41am
I don't play the game a lot but I set a reminder on my phone for when the new weekly missions come out. That way I have been getting an easy 5000FM each week without any effort.

Arcade Edition is just the deluxe edition with a big discount:
http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/2271/Street_Fighter_V_2017_Deluxe_Edition/

^ It's literally a just a price drop on this, they put a new label on it, but it's just a discount that's timed in sync with the big update.

OP, are you seriously going to be mad they're discounting the game 2 years after the release?

I got the complete edition of Shadow of Mordor for like $13.00, because it was years after the release when I got it. I pre-ordered Shdow of War for $60.00, guess how much the latter is eventually going to cost in a few years.

This is no different from every game literally ever.

He will be mad because he's memeing hard. I think we should start simply ignoring the threads with bunch of indicative things, such as "because if not" and "in case someone says xyz then". I mean, it's not an exchange or an inquiry if you wall yourself from any input from others.

I *would* agree were it not for the fact that ignorance spreads quickly when it goes unaddressed.

Like when everyone was telling people that "premium costumes" would be free to unlock, despite my best efforts to tell them they were wrong, there were too many people thinking this, leading to idiots leaving reviews saying "Capcom lied about free costumes".

No, we need to shut down stupidity.
