Capcom and Modders have a good point, but Modders getting paid for his or her work so had to be shutdown. Not paid mods. You can sub to Patreon get mod now or wait a week. Basically was a time exclusive.. I think about this topic more Modders helping Capcom make more money off lame ass bad 4.99 dlc outfits look like Michael Jackson made them. LOL

Capcom can protect their IP if they want, unless it's for education or satire. It's normally never an issue unless someone tries to profit off of it. There are a LOT of problems with IP law (especially in the US), but this is not one of them, imo.

More like, modders used copyright protected characters and modded them into a game, then asked money for it (see MK / Marvel / etc mods) ...

Considering he's doing quality stuff and a lot of nude mods, and that, shame on them, EventHubs posted "pros playing" videos starring some of his mods, I think it's pretty much guaranteed people bought some of his mods.

Capcom usually looked the other way on mods because modding wasn't a "for profit" venture.

I'm glad Capcom is being benign in the reaction to this instead of going nuclear saying "shut every mod down" (like they legally could have).

If someone is requesting that you take 6 to 10 hours of your time to create a mod for them, they better have something to sweeten the deal beyond gratitude.

Capcom legally had no other option than to shut them down though, because there's some odd IP law that causes you to lose rights over your IP if you don't protect it.

That said, I'm all for mods being free, but I also support paid mods when they're quality work. Morons here seem to think it's a easy as copy and paste, but it's no where near that simple.

I know BrutalAce personally, since we assisted one another when making compatibility patches for each others mods. So I'm more inclined to take his side here, because I actually know the work that went into each of his mods.
