Demo Patch V1.1

Hi everyone,

This big polish patch overhauls the opening house section of the demo. There is a much better sense of direction, an easier to follow story and a more immersive experience now.

Additionally, the demo, particularly in the house area, should perform nearly twice as well.

I will continue to add additional patches tonight that further improve the opening house section based on feedback.

This update and the ones prior should resolve practically every bug, but please, if you find any, report them in the Discord:

Large changes

-Refactored the entire first house section, its sequences, layout and pacing

-HUGE optimisation, particularly to the house area

-Subtitles are now available for all dialogue

-Localisation has been improved

-Added a discord button on the main menu

-Added respawn boundaries in case of clipping out of the map

Fixes

-Fixed an issue where the player was frozen when falling from a certain height

-Fixed being unable to crouch/uncrouch in certain areas

-Fixed an issue where you could fall through in the basement stairs

-Fixed a collision softlock in the confessional room

-Fixed missing footsteps on a few surfaces

Patch V1.03

Hi everyone,

This patch makes a few tweaks for accessibility, a few fixes, and some changes to give some more direction in the opening sections.

Tomorrow's patch will be a huge polish patch that reworks the entire start of the demo. I cannot wait to share it with you all.

All bugs should almost be 100% ironed out by now, but if there are any more, let me know.

Changelog

-Brightness is now adjustable in game

-Adjusted the candle puzzle riddle to make it easier

-Made the house brighter

-Additional optimization

-Added two new examinable items in the house

-Updated a few item descriptions

-Fixed the upside down clock in the bedroom

-Fixed the demo initialization (brightness, volume etc) setup screen appearing every time

-Fixed a collision issue in the bathroom

-Fixed a seam behind the stairs in the waterlogged room

Hello everyone,

This patch should fix practically every bug and collision issue. Tomorrow, and the day after, I will roll out another set of patches that now polish the game and overhaul existing content. If you have any suggestions, please send them.

-Additional optimisations

-Fixed a bug that blocked progression in the spinal staircase

-All saving/load issues fixed

-Adjusted flashlight position so it doesn't cast a shadow on the player body

-Resized canvas’ for UI to display correctly on all monitors

-Added a missing door in the basement

-Fixed a glitched looping door creak audio after going down the staircase

-Fixed multiple seams/clipping issues

-Fixed multiple collision issues

-Added footstep for some surfaces

-Boosted player movement speed in water

-Adjusted triggers in the final room

-Increased size of hitboxes for some items

& various other fixes

Good atmosphere, BUT...

I have to give credit to the dev - sound design is very good, the atmosphere is on a high level, getting near P.T. level and I don't say that lightly. But the house is so dark I have no idea where am I going or where should I. Apparently there's a flashlight somewhere out there, but there definitely wasn't any in the bathroom I've found. I hope this will be fixed, at least on full release because otherwise it's hard to recommend it....

Hate to be a hater but...

Is this game supposed to be out? I was playing it just fine for maybe 10 minutes, noticing a lot of bugs, stuff not loading, things clipping etc, but then I walk into a small corner because a saw an outlet hovering in front of it like there was a wall, then the wall spawned and now I'm completely trapped inside a small pocket behind the wall that only has collision from the inside? either there was simply no play testing or the dev couldn't care less, but I wish it wasn't a mess cus the ambience is very ni...

Tested the demo but needs to much performance and is to dark

The game is running poorly on a 2080TI, needs all VRAM (11GB) and 100% GPU for a nearly black picture. Reduced the settings to middle with 1080p and DLSS, but doesn't help. The protagonist is crawling through the rooms but as I could see nearly nothing (brightness setting on 0.3) I gave up after 15 minutes because I found nothing to read or to do. The game doesn't close on exit I had to use ALT+F4....

Is this some type of joke?

The game walk speed is very annoying, way to slow. Its too dark and cannot adjust the brightness in the menu. Let us adjust the brightness like you did in the start. No objectiive so no clue what im doin. Nothing to pick up, no flashlight, this is no for real right?...
