Audi Quattro Rallye Vs Lancia Delta S4
I bought both those top tier B class cars yesterday and was very dissapointed with Delta. Car is very fast but it also breaks very well - basically after several minutes of driving at the limit you already have a tyre puncture, then the whole tire falls off, speaking generally this car is more for a tarmac than for a gravel.

Audi Quattro Rallye is heavier and has to my mind a better looking driver's place and instruments, more solid and tough suspension, tires do not puncture and fall off. In general having 400 bhp is driveable like less powerful cars, has better stability.

In coclusion, I would strongly recommend those who are sparing credits for Delta S4 to have a look at the Quattro Rallye. You won't be disappointed.

I agree with your opinion.

Quattro has better controlability and durability.
I was very dissapointed with Delta S4 yesterday. Yes, insanely fast car but here it ends and start losing tyres, break radiators etc. I cannot even imagine how to drive it through forest, on Powys for example.

I came to a similar conclusion. Quattro is the entry level vehicle in this class though. Easy to drive but slow overall.

Quattro is my least favourite Group B car. It's easy to drive, but just too damn slow. Feels almost like Group A. For competitive driving, it's not even easy, because you have to push it *very* hard to get good times.

The reason why the Quattro feels so slow compared to the Delta S4 or the 205 T16 Evo2 is because in real life the Quattro is actually slower. If I'm not mistaken:

Quattro = 370bhp
Delta S4 = 480bhp
205 T16 Evo2 = 500bhp

The Quattro S1 (476bhp) is the car that was driven at the same time of the Delta S4 and the 205 T16 Evo2. The Quattro A2, which is the Quattro in the game, was driven just before.

The Quattro for me felt lacking until it was fully upgraded.
The 3 upgrades seemed to do very little if anything - The last upgrade however seemed to turn the car into the monster we all know and love (Even if not the S1)

Audi Quattro having, ingame, a massive engine braking doesn't help to be a competitive car, against the other Group B cars. I hope Codies will fix this because it's #Thatcar =P

You can fix it yourself, by lowering the torque value on the rear differential. It will also lesson the super-stable feeling the car possesses.

Jumped in Delta S4 again and I must say that this car is really faster than Quattro. But you must be extremely careful as it somewhat of very fragile vehicle compared to Audi, one or more missed bumps and you get the tire blown and the rim on the ground, Quattro tolerates all road debris much easier. But anyway both these cars are great in the hands of a skilful driver.

Could someone enlighten me please how you keep blowing the tyres on the Lancia? Reading this thread somehow sounds like they do that all by themselves if you push the car too hard.
Or do you mean the Lancia is difficult to keep on the road and is likely to hit a rock or sth. ?

When you hit a rock, stone or something else in slide or during jump your Co-driver will tell you "Tyre puncture". If you repeat a mistake further he will say you "Wheel on the ground". You can get it to the stage finish though, even with reasonable time if you were quick previously but you will have troubles braking (car will tend to move aside) and steering.

Weakest spots on Delta S4 are wheels and radiator.

Didn't do it for me, fully upgraded all Group B cars quite a while ago. One car I don't get good times with is the Metro, because I have great trouble keeping it under control/in a straight line. The Quattro however, I do clean stages, I'm really pushing it, feels almost like flawless stages, but my times aren't better than the ones I get from swerving back and forth in the Metro. I get almost the same times with the Impreza. Still think the Audi is the slowest in Group B.

S4 is my favourite car. Hard to tame, but when you do...
I also don't know where you're getting all these tire punctures from. Tire punctures happen in the same circumstances with all cars for me. You may notice more with the S4 and you're not careful cause it has a lot of backweight and it's back end moves out a lot.

Thanks for the link to the guide, was a good read.

The attributes described above by various posts are appropriate for each car. The Audi shouldn't be made any quicker, as it's an older spec car than the others. When the 037 arrives soon, that should be the main competition for this version of the Quattro.

It is not hard to tame, you just need to release accelerator and tap brakes from time to time. S4 accelerates 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds (quicker than many superbikes and on par with F1 cars).
