Hive strategy for PVP ?
any good strategy for hive in pvp ?
on tournament template like exodus/sprint it s very hard to build an army/hero efficient enough in a week .
The faction rely on too many things to be efficient : heroic strike , morale, strategy, day light magic... if you miss one these skills it became really hard ...
it also rely on having a lot of différent hive units so it's veeeerrry expansive
and ultimately its hard to master, one single mistake can be so punitive, that you wont be able to comeback after

any idea ?

pick the primal magic hero and use damaging spells to win
1 - two worm dwellings. With second level walls, if find enough stone and gold.
2 - Grade for wasps. stacks of 1 wasp can oneshot enemy t6.
3 - Magic, Swarm need magic support.
4 - you WILL need to trade your army. Choose a creatures to sacrifice. i often choose t1 or t2, t3 wasps are very fast, i prefer to keep them alive as mobile killers. If you have enough magic, t4 can become a huge peace of fat, that will keep you alive as long as you need to kill enemy with magic. t5 is very strong but very expensive, If you have resourses - take them. If you need to choose between them and worms - worms prefered.
5 - use eggs.
6 - worms are very tanky - and they can heal themselves and even resurrect fallen comrades by eating corpses.

oh okay thx i'll try that never thought of wasp to kill, i mostly sacrifice them for taking counter.
what do you mean by trading ?
hive is op as hell... the blink hero, the 1st stike hero, the rev hero, the primal hero.. they all slap.
Hive is as good as other factions on exodus but is underpowered in other formats.
Top players say, Hive is currently by far the weakest (top 10)... I do not care, what anybody bellow that level says.

It's hard to play Hive now and win :).
just hive :) everywhere
you ll get crushed :)
only proper class is undead
i played nothing but hive so far i pick what i think is cool and will keep playing hive learning what to use for what situation
I like to play Hive too. I am i think 1-10 with that faction. I am for example 4-0 with undead, 2-1 with schism. Hive is nice and hard.
If they protect their ranged well there is nothing you can do.
If they get the item that stops you from positioning your units you instantly lose.

Every decent player will know how to hard counter hive. You can still win a bunch in low ratings though.
Hive is not hard to play, it's just too easy to counter.
expert tactics, right to the face and win

Any good player will pick tactics against hive and then tactics just cancel eachother out.
Day 1 I've been upgrading the T1 units to the faster ones and using 1 stacks to build focus and avoid counter-attacks. Some heroes are definitely stronger than others early game as others have said. Curson, Tiva(?) the egg hero, the Crystal bug guy and the Blink hero stand out. The waurm and reaper heroes are solid as well.
hive is super hard to win at high level plays. while other factions can manage to not have losses in early game hive bleeds heavyly due to the several facts.

no mechanic to get adventage of faction unique skill:larva. while other factions benefit directly from turn 1, hive needs focus charges, good timing and proper setup to use its faction ability. temple doesnt need that, they just need to sacrifice its own 1 stacks or enemies to get stat boost. schism doesnt need that, they enter the fight with bigger numbers due to communion levels. necro is similair, they are growing their numbers before even getting fight thanks to necromancy. dungeon is just click to switch stance and get bonus stats whenever you like as long as its your turn. only hive needs a build up and proper setup, if that does not happen they cant even summon or worse, larva dies before hatching.

no ranged units early. no need to explain. no safe way to battle enemies from distance.

no early high tier creature. hive could at least benefit from a quick build to high tier creatures but this is not allowed. im talking about getting tier 5 or 6 creatures. temple has that, they can directly go for stables if they want and get tier 5 horseman.

result? super hard early game. snowballing army meanwhile creeping is a big big part of winning. i dont know why devs made hive like this. i like the unique design but man come on, you got to give us some other way to get going. hive is flavorwise my favourite faction but it is really a struggle and clear disadventage to play againts other factions. give us an alternative way at least.

currently only legit way to competetively play hive, is to get cheese heroes. you know, heroes that start with high tier creatures, or heroic strike, or avatar. this is not enough because obviously heroic strike and avatar skills are broken, and these skills breake the game far too much. i guarantee you that they will be nerfed and put in line in upcoming patches. therefore i dont think pick heroes with these skills is a solution to the problem.

devs for the love of bugs, please give hive something to work with. unfairly weak early game makes this faction a no go.
Hive is hilariously bad. Their early game is dreadful without cheese heroes like the guy mentioned above. T5/Reavers are glass cannons and can snowball hard but against a human opponent, they die like flies with their measly 45hp. Worms and Queens are good but they are T6/T7 units so...

And worst of all, apart from aesthetics, they really don't feel like Hive aka the swarm faction. Maybe they could have higher creature growth per week or more Laws increasing their population, lowering their costs and such.
