Can you play as vikings?

I wanted to know whether or not I could play as the vikings.

In the webpage it says that the map ranges from africa to scandinavia and scandinavia=vikings

On the webpage it says the game will start at 1040AD at the baginning of high medievall times. So there was vikings back then.

No, you can not play as a specific tribe, you play a leader of a city and try to expand to achieve power over the game world while your enemies try to do this themselves.

You can play as a leader of a city, build up an army / fleet and attack traders / other cities, but you won't be called a viking anywhere in the game ;)

Oh, sorry, didn't notice the ISH. Yes, there will be axe warriors. Yes, I think in the scandinavian area there are also wooden longhouses (but I'm not 100% sure on this one) and we have the typical viking ship type, the "Schnig_ge" / "Snig_ge" (just added the _ to avoid being censored ;)), I don't think theres an english word but I maybe wrong.
