My game was running fine until I changed my Nvidia settings, then I got this same error message. I changed only the Platypus settings back to default and it worked fine once again.

If anybody still has this problem, I fixed it by changing "Preferred Refresh Rate" to Application controlled in the NVIDIA Control panel setting for this game.

This might be because I have a 144Hz panel.

OMG thank. I don't know how long I've been searching for a solution to this.

I also had this issue. Here's the more precise instruction:
1. Open NVIDIA control panel.
2. Under '3D settings' open 'Manage 3D settings'.
3. Focus tab 'Program settings'.
4. 'Select a program to customize' either find your program or find an executable using 'Add'.
5. Find 'Preferred refresh rate' (not 'Max frame rate'!) and set it to 'application-controlled'.

Hope that helps.

This makes it so the game plays at about 10 fps, anybody else has a fix?

I tried the refresh rate fix but it didn't work for my computer, however I use a GSync monitor and changing the "Monitor Technology" setting from "GSync compatible" to "Fixed refresh" let me run the game :)
