Tetris Inventory System?
I don't know if it's too late into the development of the game but extraction games are always better with a Tetris Inventory System (TIS), at least for me. Games that have the single square system, for lack of better term, are just kind of boring, you grab everything until your inventory is full. The TIS feels like you're more in the actual game making real time decisions as to which items you will take with you. I know some people find that system a bit overwhelming, and in certain games like Escape From Tarkov, it is because you have multiple different areas like your backpacks, your rigs, your pockets, and your gamma container (safe container) but in other games like DayZ where it's mainly just your backpack then it doesn't get as complicated. I don't know how the flow of this game would allow for that as well, it might just be that there is no time to really organize anything but it's something worth exploring. Sorry if this is a duplicate subject, I did do a couple searches and nothing came up.
