Top spells:
Double Lightning (ehhh, Shock+Entropy) x2 - this is an extremely strong combo. It's a perfectly balanced spell on its own, but against larger creatures it's absolutely devastating. It does have a couple weaknesses though, the range is a little low; not just its base range but you want to get close for more accuracy. Also, 2x double lightning consumes your entire global cooldown so you can't cast anything with it... you have to stop casting for a sec to cast relevant buffs or other spells; so if you like teleport for defense it's not good for that.
Mindlessness (3x Mind) - Probably the best buff in the game if you aren't using Mind spells. That +4 to all rune levels is not only a good buff, but it lasts a long time and continues to scale. It also lets you experiment and learn with other spells for when you don't know how rune levels truly affects them. If you get Mindlessness twice (6 mind runes) you can stack them for +8 rune levels. If you do this, though, the 2nd mindlessness buff will have a bad duration since it gets nerfed by the first mindlessness
Seeking Stones or whatever (Earth+Mind) - homing rocks. Here's the thing though, even if it didn't home it's still one of the better dps spells. It does have a weakness in not having enough range to fill the room, but it's one of the best mid-range spells.
Teleport or Entropic Teleport (speed/speed/speed or speed/speed/dark) - Teleport is a great save if you need to dodge, but Entropic Teleport is almost as good, the teleport is random but gives a VERY significant defense buff on top of that.
Slow Burn (Dark and Fire) - Buffs in this game aren't that good on the whole, but Slow Burn is just a pure amplification against any enemy that takes more than 5 seconds to kill (when combined with Mindlessness). The dot from slow burn stacks so it's 25% more damage just outright assuming you are ok with waiting. Wanna know when it's ok to wait? Boss fights! As such, it's almost always in my storage slot. BTW: You can multistack this buff if you put Slow Burn in more than 1 slot. Weaknesses? If you need to instant kill enemies it's bad, but combined with any spell that hits everything in the room it's an automatic amp in damage.

Blessing suggestion: Honestly, Chimera is the best blessing overall. In isolation it's 7% more DPS, which you can get from other sources just fine (like a slightly wounded Orc, or mostly Human, or Elf depending on the spell, lots of options). Where Chimera excels is with the setups above I pointed out... if Chimera duplicates a spell with a buffing effect, you get the buff twice; this includes Mindlessness and Slow Burn. Furthermore, the extra casts let you get more out of Double Lightning since it ignores the Global Cooldown. As such I use Magic Missiles as my starting spell since every time magic missile gets duplicated your cooldown goes down even further, which in turn means more procs of chimera. This can get to insane levels with stuff like Prismatic Devil since you can multicast the mind buff over and over and over; I've gotten something like 20 stacks of the stuff; but it's completely random.
2nd suggestion is Human purely because of the increasing returns on Defense and Cooldown Reduction, although Goblin actually is pretty legit. Fairy is also cool if you are playing a class whose class skill doesn't deal damage since their 25% CDR also applies to it.
Class Suggestion: Honestly, all the class skills kinda bleh so whatever. I use the Necromancer cuz those two little ghouls do extreme damage if you can get an enemy stationary... some bosses don't move; you can OHKO eyezilla with just the zombies if he's in the corner.
Alternatively, the wizard dude who casts 2 spells instantly... this is crap if playing KBM default controls, but rather cool if using a controller or remapping the controls. The reason being he will only cast your 2 main spells; if you remap or use a controller then you can put slow nukes or buffs in those slots instead.

So, basically my set up is
Chimera Necromancer with Magic Missile
Get 2nd Magic Missile if possible
Build for double lightning and/or seeking stones depending on what drops
Get Mindlessness
Get Slow Burn last since it's pretty much just for bosses
Get 2nd Mindlessness
Get 2nd double lightning
LMB/RMB - double lightnings, 1 and 2 mindlessness, 3 slow burn, 4 whatever (teleport, 2nd slow burn, poisongeddon or whatever)
