If you missed it and you have verified your email, you can try this trick: turn off the marketing emails in your settings, wait for a few hours, and then turn them back on. This might work and you should be able to claim the pet.
You can also turn off the marketing emails again after you get the pet if you don’t want to receive them.
You should check your email for a confirmation link and/or a redeem code. They might take some time to send them to you. Also, log in to ESO and see if the pet is already there (sometimes they activate the pet on your account, and then send you an email with a (now) useless redeem code).
