this dlc has been free for years what is this announcement?

Before Morrowind DLC came through, there was "only base game" players like me, we didn't have a chance to get Morrowind for free, but newer players did get it with purchase.
So this is for players that who only have base game.

But... wait, it practically already was, anyone who buys the ESO already get it with the base game. This only benefits players who bought this game before or around when Morrowind released. Which I can almost guarantee if they didn't buy that DLC, they likely aren't even playing anymore.

I wish I could play ESO, but every time I log in they've reset all my skills again. I don't want to have to spend ages figuring out how to assign all my hundreds of skill points every time I want to log in and play every few months. Yet that is what I have to do every time I log in, instead of being able to just drop in and do a few quests every now and then.

As a person, who preordered all chapters since Summerset, I would like to see Summerset free for everyone too. You can play without additional classes or companions, but without jewerly crafting you can forget about any vet endgame content.

I have mixed feelings about that statement of yours community-wise. Last time I recall someone saying the same but from Maple Story to Elsword, he went to the latter and performed so much toxity and drama into the latter's community that it repeated the cycle from Elsword to Closers Online.

I mean, PoE might be healthier for now, but if people with that same mindset arrive and eventually clash between each other at PoE, it might make it as toxic as BDO, LoL or the aftermentioned games, as a major portion of the player's mindset will be carried on to the new MMO that they're willing to play next.

It's ok for people to move from an MMO to another, besisdes, we already do it by instinct when we feel tired of it, but it's kind of sad how people today carry the torch of rage along with them to start a new fire.

Hope they make Summerset (and jewelry crafting) free next year, for base-only players and newbies.

Fun fact: jewelry crafting was promised to be released free for all players originally.
Of course, it wasn't. ZoS' track record prevails.

just bought this days ago...

To the confused people: This only means that people that bought the game before Morrowind itself became free for new owners, can now also play Morrowind for free.
I don't really mind the fact that I had to buy it myself back in Elsweyr's release, as I bought it with the expansion bundle to get it alongside Morrowind and Summerset. If you bought the Blackwood bundle you would have gotten everything until then.
But in all technicality, the bundle was just saving you approximately 4$ (on a sale). I don't think there's anything wrong here, would you all prefer that Morrowind remains in this weird "free but not really" limbo for old players?

Does this give the second expansion or just the first half which I already bought ages ago?

When I buy the expansion off Steam, I'd like... you know the FULL expansion, not half an expansion and telling me to go eff myself for the second part of the expansion.
