there is post on the forum https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/652825/maintenance-scheduled-for-february-21-2024
also you guys need to stop acting like entitled children and accept this is just how it is, or yknow play something else if its so bad
Yeah nice for the peeps coming from their job and losing another session of ESO+ to stuff like this.
Stop defending an incompetent team when the NA maintenance is much faster.
they actually gave a reason for the longer EU maintenance. seems like they are updating something at the server itself or we which is not done on NA.
+ the maintenance is scheduled till 17 UTC. like 90% of people come home after that from work/school we. rip to the few evening/night shift people
Yeah it's fine if it doesn't become a norm and has a reason, but saying that it's okay to disable game access for half a day as a norm when selling a subscription model is just dumb.
Incompetent was definitely an overreaction to the comment though lol
And yeah, I have 95% night shifts for the next 2 months, stupid me for having an adult life if the 12h maintenance work was ever a norm.
i mean its the norm for this old mmorpgs with server architecture 2 decades old.
i dont like it, too, but very few mmorpgs make it better.
maybe gw2, but gw2 had other server problems instead.
I have to call bull on that one
-Non-patch maintenance for World of Warcraft is an hour
-Guild Wars 2 mainly uses a dynamic server system that allows maintenance while keeping the game online, there are very few and only hours counted by one hand when facing issues in most cases
-Runescape runs on a 3 hour maintenance schedule
-Albion Online has daily maintenance of 30m-1h
-Star Wars the Old Republic runs some of the longest, 6 to 8 hour ones
I could go look up even more maintenance logs, but regular 12 hours for a maintenance especially with an active subscription model in sale is not something the customer should expect or accept
they are all stuck back in the internet middle ages tech wise. and they wont change that for sure, because doesnt bring money.
of course the durations between games differ. i cant tell you why are some faster and some not.
eso is extremly long from time to time, yes.
but just to clarify if you have 30min-1h daily maint it adds up fast to 12h in 2 weeks, too.
Yeah but it's not something that just ends up losing a session from a week
And in a busy week for some, the session could end up very well being a third of your weekly playtime.
And ESO definitely makes enough money to not be such a slacker on the server end compared to smaller MMOs, now with the backing of Microsoft and being Bethesda's last money maker
bruh
Edit: damn my guy was fast on the delete
