Breaking Fort Virak is the worst EB quest ever
seriously. whoever designed the "stealth" section of this quest is a idiot and they should never be allowed to design a stealth mission ever again. ghost smacks me from 5 miles away and any progress i made is gone

Skill issue. I find it fun and repeat it on new characters because I like it.
You need to remember that this is MMO, not AC or Thief or Hitman. Also, going back to skill issue, ghosts move in very specific pattern and can be easily avoided even when your character wears full heavy armor with all its penalties if you observe their paths.

if you have a companion active, i'd recommend dismissing them while doing that quest. they'll always aggro the ghosts into hitting you. the ghosts have a preset pattern they follow for pathing, this quest can be frustrating but definitely gets easier once you get used to their patrols.

"Heavy armor with all its penalties". First of all, I thought heavy armors gave a penalty only to sprinting (both cost and speed). Normal movement speeds SHOULDN'T be affected (or, if they both are and SHOULD BE, then ZOS need to make that clear).

Second of all, anyone remember the days when there were NO PENALTIES for wearing light or heavy armors? Good times...

I wouldn't expect armor, movement speed, or character skills to have ANY effect on the stealth phase of that quest, seeing as you have to do it in wisp form. It's all player skill & patience.
