We all believe you
Because they need to improve and make several changes in the game before it dies completely
End game in FF really is just dungeons and raids nothing else.
The guild houses ect are ok the chocobo stable is just a gimmick and the air ship shop is nothing special.
FFs theme park design means that PQs are not really worth doing and nothing really to do in the world itself, other than some hunts ect.
A true mmo is ESO and afew other games, but the story line in FF is one of the best, and I also like the story line in ESO, both are different games both are good.
i like the combat in both games, ff14 has tons of options due to being able to be every class on a single character, but each class only really has one specific way to play.
ff14s trials and boss fights are fantastic, while the dungeons of eso are usually more interesting.
the housing and transmog system in eso is vastly superior imo, however ff14 does not have the crown store (it does have a cash shop but with practically nothing in it)
i do agree with some other people that ff14 is lacking a more engaging endgame because as much as i love the writing i sometimes just want to fight stuff out in the world, also there is not much use for money apart from buying a few glamours.
and neither game is dying and i doubt eso will see a significant loss in players unless the next few expansions are really bad
nah, FFXIV is like a single player game, and not a true mmo by any means. We can argue that fact all day long , but compare both worlds.
ESO there is far more to do over all in the game world while FF is pretty much dead, go around in each zone and you'll see what I mean,.
End game content in FF isnt great, and doing raid after raid gets boring, and also the gear is like the armor sets ect are really just for show, dont offer any real stats like other games.
The crafting in FF is great and the gathering as well, dungeons ect. The only thing FF has going for it is it has crossplay, other than that, just another tab target game which dates back to the 90s.
FFXIV Needs more open world stuff to do instead of instanced dungeons and raids all the time, square should do what EverQuest did with their end game, AAs , ( Alternate advancement leveling ) it made end game much more engaging and interesting.
FFXIV, most older free companies are gone because of a lack of anything to do, once you max everything out ( it doesn't take long ) and since everyone can be anything there isn't any variety at all.
So in closing, no, FFXIV ( my opinion as someone who has played mmos for over 20 years ) is not a "true" mmorpg, most of the content can be soloed or now with NPC characters to grind higher level dungeons, there is even talk about how square plans to make all group content solo or single player now.
Complete lie.
Besides anything broad like cosmetics, housing, RP or Transmog I can't think of anything unique in ESO that you can't spend time doing ESO. Maybe it's because I'm not in any big social guilds. FFXIV has imo better combat than ESO and each of the classes are unique along with role que. There aren't fake tanks or healers. You can tell who is new so people will actually slow down in the dungeon for you. ESO dungeons are kinda ♥♥♥♥ unless you get the newer DLC ones. Alot of the dungeons you get put in are the old vanilla ones. The newer ones are better but there is no middle ground. On normal it's too easy and on vet you get people that can't even DPS the first boss I literally tried doing Black Drake villa on Vet and I think I only got 1 or 2 groups that actually got past the first boss.
FFXIV definitely looks better, has better armor, and is more aesthetically pleasing imo. Their are also robe and cape physics.
The main ESO I play ESO is because it is in the Elder Scrolls universe and I get to spam abilities. I already sunk alot of time and the side quests and zones are really well designed so I have alot of fun playing casually. But there are also alot of problems that I am excited they are fixing. Like the lack of a way to look for custom groups in-game. Something WoW and FFXIV already had.
Also ESO classes are all homogenous and I think you know that too. THAT imo is the biggest flaw of ESO. Once they fix that I believe ESO will be twice as good as it is now.
