I want to play GOOD mmorpg WITH BRIGHT FUTURE
I have irl work 2/2, I have things needs to be done, life, friends etc. At the same time I'm young and I want to play MMORPGs with different activities, interesting pve, good pvp, good looking and interesting world.
After watching lots of video, reading threads and comments on reddit I found that ESO/New World/GW2 are types of MMORPG which I'm probably looking for. Also FF14 seems very interesting for me, but I'm already tried it and leveling as dragoon class is SO boring. I know that FF14 is very populated game and I like that as fact, maybe almost like WoW. But subscribtion fee scares me, because I don't want to compensate spent money by doing in game activites every day. GW2 has only 2-4k people in steam, while FF14 has ~30k and ESO ~20k, so I was wondering how is it populated? What game would you recommend?

Got news, theres duty support for all stormblood dungeons and maybe trials for FFXIV coming out in 1-2 months or close to that.
If you want to choose ESO, there's at least a dozen dungeon DLC's that cost crowns (1,500-4000 crowns each depending on bundles or sales if they exist). Then there's the inventory issue for certain events. Even if there is a crown sale, for DLC's alone, you may be staring at 9,000-30,000+ crowns for all the dlc dungeons, zones, and classes. Which without a sale on crowns, your looking from 40-100$+ in DLC's alone, and if you aren't good at managing inventory space or don't feel like having mule alts, prepare to fork over money for ESO+ sub, sure you get crowns based off what you pay for regarding ESO+ duration sub.

Issue is, the subscription fee of FFXIV 14 scares you as you say, and in essence, ESO+ is just a rebranded subscription for a crafting bag and double bank space, even if the crowns may be nice, but each to their own regarding choices, have you considered checking youtube reviews on other MMORPG's that catch you eye if ESO nor FFXIV suite you?

if you want to have life don't start mmo :D

they all have flaws, test all and chose community, visuals and combat you prefer.

to play comfortable will be spending around 150 bucks a year roughly no matter the game, which is not that bad considering how much money will save from not having time to play other games...

Guild Wars 2 may be the best choice. Also the 2-4k on Steam is not accurate for overall players. Pre-existing accounts aren't allowed to connect with Steam, so the majority of players can't play through it. Those 2-4k you see are new players who started on Steam. The game is very populated.

I recommend you watch non gameplay videos and make up your own mind instead of asking other people what you should thing

this is the problem with modern gaming
I bought a special edition at like €20 so I got all the major zones DLC, spent another €20 I think on crowns and wait for ESO+ trials or sales to buy small zone DLC's, and after 2 years I have done all the dungeons and small zones at least once
I even farmed the good sets
like I get that I don't own the WHOLE game yet, and I never will because I don't even like dungeons with randoms, but I'm not spending even more money on a game I already own, and guess what? I play comfortably
the part I never understood is how none of the ESO+ users will admit that it's literally just paying to cheat

Paying for a subscription to an online game is not paying to cheat.

Maybe you missed basic economics in elementary school, but there are two kinds of products to pay for in this world: goods and services. For the longest time video games fell into the "goods" category as a single purchase that, once bought, you could enjoy to your hearts content with no additional money spent but also with no downloads, no patches, no new content. However with online access to servers run by the development companies required for online gaming, which provides access to gaming with other players, many video games now fall under the "services" category of products. Services have to be paid for again and again whether they be things like car maintenance, water/electric/utilities, cable/Netflix, etc. Because the company has to pay to keep an online game running, players have to keep paying to continue playing.

Due to a bad economy and falling interest in MMORPG's many of those types of games have implemented a "free-to-play" option which keeps the populations high enough to keep enough subscribers subscribing to keep the game afloat. But in reality, to the company free-to-play accounts are "gifts" to people who just can't afford a subscription option but who still want to support the game and add extra bodies into the multiplayer community of the game. However, subscribers are the "real" customers of the game, and so subscriptions have to offer enough incentive to keep subscribers subscribing. This often entails "nerfing" free-to-play accounts in some way so that subscribers are actually getting something for the money they are spending to keep the game running.

If anyone is technically cheating, it is the people who continue to enjoy the service whilst never actually paying for it beyond an initial one-lump purchase.

This has a whole load of variety and is a good mmo to chill to due to its single-player friendliness.

question is how single-player friendly is your experience? don't recall ZOS nor Bugthesda making it so you can solo trials nor DLC veteran dungeons...., perhaps normal difficulty tho

Yeah, there is content I simply can’t do alone. However, it gives me enough variety that I can find something else to concentrate on in place of doing those. If OP is after something chilled, with stuff to constantly find, then this is good for that. I know that the trials/pvp has serious issues, but there’s so much overworld content for someone to do if they are a casual player. OP would be starting fresh. I don’t do Vets or anything, as I’m simply a casual (though many hours, so hardcore in that way) player. Having played many hours in FFXIV this is definitely where I go for relaxation and to always find something to do.

don't start a mmo with a boring gameplay if you are not really interested in it (like eso)

WoW TESO FF14 are games with a lot of old ppl, not without a reason

ESO is interesting for the TES universe

If I could offer you some advice based on my experience playing ESO it would be to stay away. Shame it took me 400 hours to realize it.

It's a shame, because the Elder Scrolls universe is one of my favorites. But I also noticed that people complain that the game has too much monetization of everything in a row, so it's not for me.

Best choice based on what? GW2 has been on maintenance mode since February 28, 2022. Steam launch was a failure and those 2-4k players (lmao at the teeny tiny population) are not all new players. Many veterans and whales found a way to login to their accounts while opening the steam client so they can manipulate the numbers.

Even with those desperate af attempts, GW2 population still sits at a bizarrely low numbers even though it's free to download. Developers finally caved in and admitted they won't be making real expansions anymore, best they can deliver is one half a map once a year while they update the cash shop weekly to satisfy the whales and drain their wallets dry.

You make your own mind how unpopular and insignificant Guild Wars 2 really is.

many sources report 17 million registered accounts and 500 thousand - 1 million daily entering the game. Although this is 2 and 3 times less than FF14 and WoW, I do not think that this is a reason for developers to completely abandon the development of the game. GW2 still feels like a unique MMORPG to me in terms of monetization and progression. And right now I can observe a large number of players in the starting locations. In addition, videos from various content creators still appear on YouTube about why GW2 is one of the best mmorpg. I just can't believe it's that bad

it is monetized(eso) - one can get house for 100 irl bucks or spend 300 - 400 on loot boxes for the latest mount rescin.
big part of complains how heavily monetyzed is from people that have bought base game on sale for 5 bucks and want to play it forever and be competitive (and even this is possible but includes a lot of grind).
as i said in my previous comment - test games for yourself.
