Cant play after installation, using a Mac
Hi I just installed the game through Steam and all, the problem is that when I try to start the game by pressing the blue PLAY and the button gets grey (that means that the game its on its way to get started) then after a few seconds the PLAY button get back to blue again (it gets clickable). So the game never starts. As I said Im using a Mac. What should I do? Any ideas?

Same issue here, only way it works for me is when I launch ESO directly from it's directory in finder. Just search Zenimax Online in finder, and launch the one called "Launcher". Everything should work other than Steam overlay if you do that.

Hello, everyone! Please try to run a repair on your installation. You can repair the files for The Elder Scrolls Online on your computer by following the steps below:
  • First, start The Elder Scrolls Online launcher by double clicking on the icon on your desktop.
  • Wait for the launcher to finish starting.
  • If multiple ESO clients are installed and available through the launcher, make sure to have the correct version highlighted by clicking on it once.
  • In the middle of the launcher there will be an entry for Game Options next to an icon of a small cog wheel.
  • Open the Game Options dropdown menu and click on the option for Repair.
  • Allow the launcher to examine all the files for the game. This may take some time.
  • If any files are found to have problems, the launcher will re-download those files.

guys i think i understand, this could be an issue with the last update that was released today... there are other people with the same in issue in other threads...

Just wondering if anyone else had the issue today that after the update was downloaded the game wouldn't boot? I click on the Play button, grey wheel goes round then stops. Nothing happens and the Play light is clickable again.
Game worked fine last night and has always run flawlessly. I haven't installed anything new at all.
Ran a game verification and it told me that 121 Steam files were missing and would need to be reacquired... What the......
I run absolutely no mods on my game either.
It is now downloading 42+G's of data for ESO..... 1 1/2 hours to finish...
Considering my ISP has download caps (and we had already downloaded a couple of major games this month) this is not going to be great and may well cost me money. There's no reason I should be basically re-downloading ESO other than if the update messed up.

Update:
Yea so it appears the auto update actually uninstalled the game and had to reinstall it. Now its trying to update again and it says "WebGet Failed".
Also "Reliable source serving corrupt data".
Nice job.

After downloading 42+G - basically reinstalling the game again, although I never uninstalled it, and downloading the 12G update for the second time (thats 24G) ESO still won't start. When verifiying the files again it now tells me that 774 files refused to valiidate and will need to be reacquired.

I am uninstalling ESO and cancelling my sub... which is a shame as I have over 900 hours in it in less than 3 months and truly loved the game.

My other Steam games run fine.

So what do we do ? is this post enough to raise a report ? I already send my report to the ESO page but I haven't received an answer yet.

I've opened a ticket with their support desk, lets wait now....

Yeah I'm running into alot of problems as well the launcher won't download at all, and the ESO website won't even let me make an account. Only lost 20 dollors nothing to really complain about.
