Trophies: Chattering Skull
So what is the deal with trophies...most of which I have obtained are from quests and add some strange effect or something when used.

I just found a rare chattering skull. Used it and it disappeared from inventory and did nothing. What happened to it? What is the purpose of it?

There are two types
(1) From dungeon quests and they do something random and silly
(2) From random npc and they are for a collection achievement. Click on them once and they disappear and get added to the collection, look under achievements to see the full list.
If you get the same one a second time, either give it to an alt to use or sell it for a few gold

The Chattering Skull is for "The Living Dead" collection achievement

I am a beginner to this. I soon had a chattering skull. I doesnt chatter but I kept it anyway. Today I clicked on it (as I had read today on the forum that it is a trophy and that I should click on it to add to my collections). So I did. Now it has completely disapeared. I had previously found that I had a red Silk Map. I could find no reference to this anywhere at all. Neither in help, on the forums or out on the internet. Therefore as it appeared to be totally useless I sold it to make space. Now I believe that it may have been a very rare item. There is no guidance on what to do in these situations! There should be a pop-up when you first find these things saying that this item is a rarity and should be stored, and indeed where and how how to store it. (Not flaming anyone here - just trying to be helpful) :)
