Error 209

Hello people I've updated the game to its most recent version and when I log in the game looks weird, like nothing is loading in. I continue to get the Error 209 pop up when ever I open up the launcher. But the thing is I have tried everything to fix this error but nothing would happen. If anyone had experienced this kind of problem before please help me.

This should fix your issue, it did for me

1. Delete all the ".version" files
   there is 4x .version files one in each folder found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online and 1 found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Zenimax Online\Launcher
   
   
2. Run Launcher
   
   
3. Close Launcher
   the launcher should close by itself anyway
   
   
4. Open your recycle bin.
   
   
5. Restore the .version files.
   
   
6. When asked whether or not you wanna overwrite the existing files there, say "yes"

I found this recently and found that I had to change the compatability to windows 8 at the source exe file. you can make the change on the desktop short cut as well but it wont help the launcher in steam if you do.

This is is a windows rights to run issue as it like to deny even admin the right to run apps. May also be poor coding asking for elivated rights it does not need and being denied by the os. I no longer have this issue and it is NOT steams fault in is ESO.
