The Elder Scrolls Online

Personal review
To oriented into the cash grab scheme, everything is based on the amount of money you're willing to pay to get ahead. In my opinion, it is not worth it, and I will be uninstalling and deleting it from my account.

I am writing this comment based on my experience acquiring (at 67% off) and playing the Gold Road Deluxe Collection bundle which includes all Steam released Chapter DLCs and then some Deluxe items. Maybe if you've just played the Standard or smaller version, the experience will be different.

Having said that, I can say I'm enjoying the game because I have access to a huge amount of content. But take note, it still feels a little incomplete because I cant open any Thieves Troves boxes scattered around the world. This requires a Skill that can be learned if you have the Thieve's Guild DLC in the Crown Store. Thus, I think that Chapter DLC should already be included in the Gold Road Deluxe Collection. Since they also already included The Imperial City for free through the Crown Store, why not just include the whole Guilds & Glory 4-pack DLC Bundle too so we can own the Dark Brotherhood DLC + Orsinium DLC as well. hehe :steamhappy:

Furthermore, I learned most important stuff can be collected in the game anyway by grinding for Gold, Event Tickets, and Writs. It just takes longer when compared to just buying stuff with Crowns. This is typical behavior for an MMORPG. I consider the most important things to do for newbies though is to upgrade your Storage/Carry Capacity (Backpack and Bank) and then your Mount Riding Speed, Stamina, & Storage. The Character also gets a free Small Chest with 30 Capacity at some early point when leveling up. This Chest can be placed in a free small Inn Room that you can also receive in Auridon. :lunar2019grinningpig:

Every game on Steam has a specific place to leave a review. What's the point in posting one in the forum except to seek attention? https://steamcommunity.com/app/306130/reviews/

Grind Master Writs (buy them from Guilds if necessary) then buy chests and coffers to acquire 360 storage slots that can be placed in your homes: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Housing_Storage

If you do this alongside Pack and Bank Space upgrades and buying daily Mount storage you'll rapidly gain a lot of storage capacity. Coffers/chests and Bank Space are shared between you characters, so when one buys a coffer/chest and places it in a home they all instantly benefit, whereas packs and mounts are per character upgrades.

It's a semi-subscription based story-driven MMO with some casual PVP, what exactly is pay-to-win? As I haven't found it in the 700 hours I have played.

Very little. The odd item in the Crown store, such as horse upgrades are considered "pay to win" by some people. But since the store doesn't sell sets or allow you to buy things such as skill lines and skyshards until at least one character has unlocked them, it's not really pay to win. It's just that alts can be advanced faster if you're willing to pay for it. I've never considered PvE "winnable" personally, any more than Skyrim can be "won", and the PvP in ESO doesn't offer enough content to be truly competitive, imo.

It really depends how long one has played, if you accumulated enough champion points, the work around is to put points into movement speed - Celerity and Hasty, before you get the mount speed up.

One can also make their alts and level up the mount speed synchronically.

You can, but you need the funds... 250 gold per horse upgrade soon adds up. A new player can't just create a load of free alts without actively making gold. Like you said, it depends how long you've played. Most people probably stick with one character for a while and learn the game before wanting alts. That at least gives them time to bank gold, acquire all the Inn room homes, expand Bank storage, etc. Some account based advantages are worth doing ahead of branching into alt builds. It's just that some people are too impatient and want to be playing endgame content before they even know how to play the basics.

Well here's my take:

I am not a hardcore Elder Scrolls fan in fact the lore doesn't interest me one bit (yea I know what a shocker)

I play this game for the PvP and I am very rubbish at it lol but I still have fun, which is why I play Video games.
I rushed through the game skipping most if not all the story just to get to lvl50 as fast as I could which was really easy.
The only reason I play this game is because the PvP reminds of the good old's in DAOC battle grounds.
I have maxed out my mount in everything including using CP so I can get around the PvP maps flat out all the time and my char has a very low CP lvl (lvl50 with 700 CP)
I also have never spent 1 penny in the game, apart from the purchase of the game, which was dirt cheap when it was on sale.
But then again I'm not a hardcore Elder Scrolls fan, so I just to have a bit of fun soloing in the Battle grounds and supporting any groups I find while running around (meat bags, oil, magnum shot or anything that hinders the groups they are attacking), this game meets all my needs BUT I wish this was DAOC.

They already gave Thieves Guild away free once in the past year. It was a daily calendar login reward sometime last spring. The Orsinium DLC, Clockwork City DLC, and a few DLC dungeons were also calendar rewards at other points during the year. Stick around long enough and maybe they'll give them away again...

EDIT - Plus, there are free ESO+ trial periods several times per year. You can unlock skills from DLC zones during those periods and they stay with your character after the trial ends. In fact, DLC zone storylines are short enough that you can finish everything in a few of those zones easily during a weeklong ESO+ trial.

Speeding up your horse isn’t even “pay to win” because it doesn’t affect your combat or anything else but your own experience. I’ve never bought them but I don’t see the problem with it. Many people don’t touch the crown store at all and have thousands of hours this person just wants attention because he’s not getting it from mommy and daddy

Look at the games this person reviewed as positive on their profile and it says it all 🤡

oh, OK ?

But maybe not as boring as someone who has nothing better to do than hang around an ESO post and spat on about stuff because your upset about a game and want some form of attention. you come across as the type of person that has a lot to say but little to offer as far as I am concerned.

Last time I checked forums are for discussion. I offer a lot such as helping new players and running a successful social guild. I stay active here because I’ve put a lot of effort and time into the game. A big fan of the series and love the lore and world. You are just some transient looking for another mmo to compete in and swing your Richard around in. People like you come and go true tes fans stick around it’s much better without people like you.

You know the remedy then don't you

Stop being whiny then.
People don't have to be a hard core Elder Scrolls fan to play the PvP
ESO PvE is far to easy and very boring imho a lot of people think the Pve is boring because it is and that's ok because I play the PvP anyway.
Oh and get off your high horse, I don't care about being in a guild or not I'm in the game fun not to commit my life.
Just because you run a guild that doesn't impress me because I am not going to commit to playing just a game, plain and simple.
Not that I don't think guilds are cool just not my sort of thing. I find cross play in game odd and others find it fun but that's ok to, each to their own.

To me ESO is just a game and thats all it will ever be to me, I don't get emotionally invested/connected to Video games.
