Also, deconstructing not only gives you the basic resources needed to actually craft the item, but depending on the item, it might be a style of gear that can get you the rare style material if you deconstruct it. Example: You found some Xyvkin style gear inside a dungeon... you deconstruct it for a chance to obtain Xyvkin style material that you can use to craft in that style if you want in the future.
If you don't have ESO Plus Craft Bag, then I'd only deconstruct items if I need something from them, otherwise your Inventory, Bank Inventory, or Storage Chests in your Home will definitely get filled up very quickly... or you can use Mule Characters to store things on but that gets absolutely annoying fast.
If you're new to the game, always good to deconstruct everything and Research everything, that's a given. If you been playing for quite some time and have all Crafts to 50... then it's your choice. Selling all the gear instead of deconstructing, "depending on how much you play", can earn you a good chunk of Gold.
I sell all white, green, and blue armor & weapons and deconstruct the purples. There's no need to hoard blue or green upgrade materials for these gear types since they're very, very common and very, very cheap. Even still, I find myself selling stacks of purple upgrade materials fairly regularly just because I've run out of storage room.
I also deconstruct glyphs because I can sell the parts for more than the trivial amount the vendor gives you for them. But runes are so common, that even those don't sell for much. If you wanted to save the hassle and vendor them, I wouldn't blame you. :P
This is the main reason. If you feel like you're better off with the money for selling it, go for it, but end-game gear is pretty costly in resources (going from CP150 gear to CP160 gear increases the base material cost x10), so I usually just deconstruct everything on my crafter. It's basically my standard flow to have my other characters send ALL the loot they get to my bank, and then when it's ffull, I log onto my crafter and deconstruct everything.
