ESO crashes on launch
I was able to play until update 44. I have run a system check which showed no errors. I have tried a clean install of the game. I have tried a clean install of nVidia drivers. I have done a clean install of all C++ redistributables. I have run the Game Repair function. I have run the game as Admin. I've played around with compatibility settings. I've tried running the game under a new windows user profile. Has anyone had this issue?

System Specs:
Gigabyte B450M
Ryzen 5 3600
16 GB DDR4
RTX 3060 12GB

I've run several dxdiag between each step just to see if I find anything. So far, no errors have been found. As far as the d3d11.dll versions being different, I did update my nvidia drivers, so maybe that is conflicting with the game somehow?

so back to the log msg :
"WARNING - Unable to retrieve proxy configuration (12167)"
which is network/firewall related.

https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/#en/answer/51890
https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/4362

I can go to the game folder then the launcher folder and run bethesda.net_launcher.exe and the game launcher runs. no proxy config errors in my host.developer log.

and that could just be a normal/ignore msg for your network.

--- Stop posting logs immediately.
--- Do not allow you to post strange logs instead send them to Elder Scrolls customer service.
--- There is an issue with card not supporting or the program that is generating Terrain is being overridden by the Vulkan API in standard AMD Drivers in a mode that is not supported.

---- > First run a repair by clicking the cogwheel in the launcher and selecting repair.

# If you have a onboard VideoCard disable these immediately because of swap memory. In some cases the ESO system can detect multiple video cards and will occassionally swap memory with another GPU if it needs to. If your onboard GPU is enabled ESO might use it and eventually crash.

# Try to find something in your logs that your PCI device has no proper support for "PowerState"

# If you have frequent time-outs Do not hesitate and complain frequently to AMD about the current situation. the Vulkan API is rather new and is not fully supported yet.

As of 2018 ESO uses Vulkan in the render for diversity of enhancements and generating wireframe for terrain (terrain tesselation). The Vulkan program is unfortunately 'young' and still has some bugs that need to be tried. I can not exactly tell which one but i have read something about its implementation for MacOS at least.

-- In your driver software disable all OpenGL overrides.

There is nothing else you can do. (Download NixOS Linux or Fedora Core or any pre-built OS but requires 'severe tweaking' on how to get it running)

AMD or NVIDIA drivers should be running it perfectly anyway

You want to find your UserSettings.txt and enter the following

[ Skip Intro Video ]

set SkipIntroVideo=1

Latest updates of 18-1 2025 has definitly wrecked a hard drive here and it is stuck in bootlooping recovery ever since.

You need to be cautious.

-- > You can ocassionally reset ESO by deleted the UserSettings.txt file. You will have TWO intro video's try to record the crash and post it here.

You will see a intro video when starting the game and while logging into the game. This is an error that occurred during deployment of the latest patch and trigger multiple BSOD's.
