ESO crashes on launch
I was able to play until update 44. I have run a system check which showed no errors. I have tried a clean install of the game. I have tried a clean install of nVidia drivers. I have done a clean install of all C++ redistributables. I have run the Game Repair function. I have run the game as Admin. I've played around with compatibility settings. I've tried running the game under a new windows user profile. Has anyone had this issue?

System Specs:
Gigabyte B450M
Ryzen 5 3600
16 GB DDR4
RTX 3060 12GB

Same issue. No idea what to do. The Steam version of this game always seems to have problems.

I believe the sequence is when you click play in your steam library, steam runs
zossteamstarter.exe which calls
bethesda.net_launcher.exe which shows the game launcher then when you press play
eso64.exe is launched

so which one is not launching?

check windows event viewer and also windows reliability history.
might be a game crash event and/or system related errors.

try windbg when the servers are back up
I can run bethesda.net_launcher and eso64.exe within windbg
but the servers are down now

perhaps a useful error msg will show up on your machine later

Its after I click "Play" from the client launcher. The screen goes black like it starts to load then crashes. with an ESO Error Report. Its the eso64.exe that is crashing

Ask Nvidia if you updated the GPU driver, because the current ones are garbage.

win 11 event log: Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: eso64.exe, Version: 1.0.0.1,
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: d3d11.dll_unloaded, Version: 10.0.22621.4541
since yesterday crash msg after playing in launcher - repair does nothing
cheshirm Dec 26, 2024 @ 5:27am
checked my win 11 d3d11.dll in C:\windows\syswow64 and C:\windows\system32 folders and both are version 10.0.26100.2454
maybe repair/reinstall/update dx11?

perhaps also check windows system files
open a command window with admin permission and run these commands

sfc /scannow
dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

(sfc scans and repairs Windows system files
dism fixes corrupt files in the Windows system image, use it when SFC can't repair files)

just removed some last installed eso mods, no more crash msg in launcher .. case closed :)
Yulri Dec 28, 2024 @ 12:46pm
After playing around a bit, I discovered that if I right click eso64.exe and run as admin, it will load to login. but if I click play on the client launcher, it crashes immediately.

well go to folder
...\steam\steamapps\zenimax online\launcher\logs
I ran the game and logged in. looks like these logs were updated
host.developer.12.29.2024.log
launcher.settings
restart.log

any errors in your logs?

or what were the last 10 lines and I can compare to mine to see where yours is crashing.

and there are no "WARNING - Unable to retrieve proxy configuration (12167)" error msgs.

check firewall and antivirus logs again. there are more than one eso .exes that need network access

Same. Black screen at launch. This is crap!
Yulri Dec 31, 2024 @ 11:42pm
I have confirmed my firewall and antivirus settings, those look good to me. I looked at the most recent log and the last 10 lines are different with a new warning in the log:
12/31/2024 01:40:46 DEBUG - Dictionary.0cf97074.XCache - a23-61-10-76.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com (Dictionary)

those lines are from the bethesda.net_launcher.exe shutting down

so the launcher works and eso64.exe works launched directly.
so either the launcher is passing garbage to eso64
or something else related to dx11

back to your d3d11.dll_unloaded, Version: 10.0.22621.4541
if we both have an nvidia card (mine 3060ti),
why is my d3d11,dll version 10.0.26100.2454

maybe run dxdiag and see if there is anything in the report?

try the check dpi settings in here if you havent already
https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/#en/answer/28049

you have an nvidia card. try the graphics settings from the nvidia app. maybe those work instead of the ones the game thinks you should have
