how's ESO now?

I played this game in ps4 for a long time when it first came out but stopped playing 4 years ago lol, I had 4 characters level 50, and i met many awesome people in game. I was wondering how is the community in this game recently? I just got another copy since its on sale and im excited to play it on pc!

If you have next gen consoles (xbox x/ps5) and prefer the console experience, the devs have announced that mods will be coming to console.

This gives you the option of keeping your current progress on console.

As far as the game as a whole goes, it's really not in a good state right now and hasn't been for awhile. The game is very solid up to and including Summerset but, after that, pretty much all of the focus that was previously centered around story telling, lore and integral questing has taken a backseat to traditional garbage mmo mechanics.

With the exception of the occasional logins for events and such, I've since taken the time I've been spending on ESO and diverted it back to Everquest (EQ).

Either ESO has been hijacked, and it's permanently cooked, or virtually all of the skilled assets have been diverted to upcoming projects. In either case, I don't expect ESO turning around or improving any time soon.

It's a Steam issue. If you had the standalone client it wouldn't do that. But it just goes to show you that the experience in the game, on the same "platform" (PC) can vary due to forces outside your control.

Appreciate it, but i just don't understand why you have to wait for two files almost 200 gig in size to download before you can actually play the game, i was looking forward to elder scrolls but not going through that process a again, shame though, i really wanted to try it. But thanx for all the replys.

actually, while i was playing another ♥♥♥♥ mmo for the past decade, i never once need to go to that game forum post anything, because if i have any time, i would log in and play that ♥♥♥♥ game. if talking about weird action of ppl complaining here, its more funny ppl actually liking the game but often visit forum instead. LMAO

I returned after ~2-3 yrs. Solo game became extremally easy. I like stories, quests are pretty solid, but fighting is sooo boring. There is no real feel of adventure when you can kill final quest boss in few hits.
At some point I ignored all mobs on the way to boss as they were no threat at all. I remember it was harder few years ago.

And it seems that PvP part is gone (I mean battlefields), you have to wait ~1h to get into a battle.

Also 98% of my guild is not playing anymore (it has 300 players).

Yeah, it's in a BAD patch right now. That's why several streamers vanished and why the game is having an issue keeping players retained long-term.

The game cycles through players on boom-bust hype periods, but they don't ultimately stay because newer players also notice the issues with the game.

An example was one player said the game was "overwhelming" - and when you think about it, how can anyone argue that it is not when the game has so many systems that even the lead combat designer got dumbfounded by it and exposed on stream?

All in all, I've deleted the game and it's been great watching the show. Even deleted, I still was able to get some people to test a Lampart build to one shot people and still have fun "guessing" with great accuracy extremely broken builds.

Imagine that, don't need to even log in to think about broken builds and the dev team cannot do the same and keep releasing broken stuff?
