"siege warfare" Cyrodiil tutorial quest, please help.

i just started going to cyrodiil and got stuck with the first quest i got at the "use practice repair kit on siege weapon" the repair kit i first got was either destroyed by accident or something else because i missclicked when i was trying to quickslot it, resulting that it is no longer in my inventory,(note: hint says that i can speak to "Zan" if the repair kit was lost) i then talked to zan since the hint said he would give me another kit if i somehow lost mine, however whenever i talk to him he would only say something along the lines of "go practice repairing my friend etc..." as if i still had practice repair kit in my inventory (cannt remember actual dialogue). After that i went to a siege merchant to buy my own repair kit which i could use for the quest, but i could not do the repair since i might either need a practice repair kit or im repairing the siege weapon wrong, please help!!.

Reset the quest, I have had a couple of buggy quests.
Just cancel them to reset them.
